About the role
We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join a global team working on the modernization of a strategic Market Risk platform.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to complex software development projects and strategic initiatives.
Take an active role in the modernization of the Market Risk platform.
Develop, maintain and enhance existing software applications.
Design and implement scalable, secure and high-performance solutions.
Contribute to solution architecture and technical design.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions and knowledge-sharing activities.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical guidance.
Collaborate with team members and stakeholders across different regions.
Contribute to project roadmaps and technical strategy.
Promote software engineering best practices and design patterns.
Evaluate and adopt new tools, technologies and automation opportunities.
Develop and maintain unit tests and ensure high-quality engineering practices.
Participate actively in BAU activities and production support.
Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation across the development lifecycle.
Requirements:
10+ years of hands-on experience with Java development.
Strong experience with Spring.
Strong object-oriented design and development skills.
Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
Strong experience with relational databases and logical data modelling.
Experience querying and optimizing queries against large relational databases.
Practical experience with JUnit and unit testing.
Ability to write scripts using Shell or Python.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while following appropriate coding standards.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in English.
Experience working effectively in a global, distributed team environment.
Interest in leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation and production deployment processes.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
