About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Java/J2EE Developer to support the research, design, development, and maintenance of web-based grant management application systems supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) eRA Program.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain enterprise applications, troubleshoot and resolve software issues, provide production support, perform unit testing, and work with databases and system requirements in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise web-based applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
  
• Develop new functionality and enhance existing applications through bug fixes and system improvements.
  
• Provide production support and troubleshoot application issues.
  
• Perform unit testing and automated testing of Java applications.
  
• Analyze system requirements and manipulate data to support application development.
  
• Design and work with relational databases using Oracle and PL/SQL.
  
• Develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP Web Services.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and application maintenance activities.

• Experience with Object-Oriented Design and Development.
  
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using J2EE/JEE technologies.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
