Your role:
Day to day, you will be working with Bupa management teams to help them improve the risk management and internal controls of their business. You’ll plan and schedule audits to assess regulatory and operating controls throughout the organisation and to help protect our assets. You’ll also, perform project work, and keep your technical audit expertise up to date. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the functional development of the team through our innovative 'Ways of Working' (WoW) Programme and global assurance activities.
All your work will go toward the same goal: providing independent, objective assurance to Management, the Board and the Audit Committee on the effectiveness of Bupa’s systems of governance, risk management and internal control.
GIA’s work is highly visible within and outside Bupa, so it’s essential that you produce consistently high-quality outputs and maintain strict confidentiality surrounding sensitive information.
Your responsibilities:
You’ll bring your communication, analysis, problem-solving skills and initiative to this role to:
- Lead and deliver on multiple assurance activities, timely completion to a high standard in accordance with our methodology, processes and procedures.
- Write, review and present high-quality audit reports.
- Engage with key stakeholders, building rapport and keeping them informed throughout each audit.
- Predict emerging business risks and report audit findings in a commercially minded way.
- Think critically, identifying improvements to our audit delivery process.
- Follow up with audit management action plans to ensure timely mitigation of identified risk areas.
- Apply technical and specialist skills to continuously support and innovate in GIA.
- Champion data analytics and visualisation in all audit stages, enhancing insights and growing GIA’s capabilities including AI transformation as well
- Collaborate across teams to share insights, best practices and to deliver annual audit plans, whilst aligning with our strategy and goals.
- Support your Manager/ Head of Audit to develop audit plans and its realization.
- Coach and motivate peers and other team members as you work with them.
- Act swiftly to resolve any noncompliance with Bupa’s policies, procedures and codes of conduct.
- Drive continuous improvement in GIA, and your own personal performance.
- Learn all about the business, absorbing insights from across Bupa to support our function’s growth.
Your experience:
To succeed in this role, you’ll have a desire to build relationships with key stakeholders, improve processes and overcome challenges. We welcome people from all backgrounds with:
- Strong technical skills and an ability to deliver high quality audits.
- Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge and experience in understanding the IT governance, risk management, security and IT audit principles, methods and techniques. In-depth knowledge of IT and cybersecurity risks, controls, and industry best practices, including knowledge of IT / cybersecurity frameworks (eg. COBIT, ITIL, NIST and ISO standards).
- Advanced data analytics skills which support use of audit data to drive meaningful insights and change.
- +5 years of experience in IT audit, capable of working on your own initiative with limited supervision and guidance on a day-to-day basis.
- Experience in a service-oriented audit function, building strong relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
- Reputation for delivering on commitments, holding self and others accountable for performance.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in written and verbal presentation of audit results to stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness, business acumen and the regulatory framework in which it operates.
- Fluency in Turkish and English.
- Some domestic and international travel might be required,
It’s also desirable, but not essential, for candidates to have:
- Experience in a related role in an Internal Audit function, preferably from a highly regulated industry and/or from a complex international organisation. Governance, risk & control mindset and understanding the role of the Internal Audit.
- IT Audit professional qualification (e.g. CISA, CISSP, 27001 or equivalent overseas qualification).
- Experience with tools such as IDEA, ACL, SAS, Python and/or Power BI.
- Experience in working successfully across multiple geographies will be a plus.
