Job Coach- Supported Employment

Jessica & Friends Community (a faith-based IDD organization) is looking for DSPs who want to help our Individuals live their best lives. We serve adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. This position will start on a part-time (PRN) basis and has the potential for hours to increase as the program grows.

Definition and Basic Function: The Supported Employment Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing hands-on training, job coaching and support for individuals with disabilities at their place of work to help them learn job tasks, responsibilities, workplace culture and to gain independence in employment.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Program Leadership & Oversight:
  • Assist clients with job search, resume writing, cover letter creation, interview preparation.
  • Meet with employers to understand their needs, explain the Supported Employment Program and negotiate appropriate accommodations to maintain ongoing positive working relationships between the client and employer.
  • Collaborate with clients, employers, and their support systems to develop job support plans.
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of client progress, outcomes and activities and day-to-day operations of supported employment programs.
  • Assist clients access community based resources as needed.
  • Assist with billing and administrative needs as assigned.
• Client Services:
  • Ensure person-centered planning and goal setting for all program participants.
  • Oversee job development, placement, coaching, and retention.
  • Provide client satisfaction.
• Employer & Community Engagement:
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local employers, vocational training providers, and community resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of clients and professionals.
• Reporting & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with funding and accreditation standards.
  • Monitor outcomes, prepare reports, and analyze data for continuous improvement.
• Work Environment
  • Combination of office, remote, and community-based settings.
  • Occasional travel to job sites, community partners, and training events.
