Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations, Journalism, Liberal Arts, Communications, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in the news industry or advertising.
• 3 years of experience in strategy, consulting, business development, operations, analytics, audience, product, or project management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Newsroom experience, particularly with a focus on breaking news.
• Understanding of subscription revenue, nonprofit donations, audience development, ad revenue, and trends in business performance.
• Experience in teaching, public speaking or mentoring journalists.
• Excellent strategic, problem solving, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to project manage with minimal guidance, to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities, and manage several time-sensitive projects
• Ability to craft and communicate insights from data, affinity for metrics
• Experience with subscription or donations management systems or Google Reader Revenue Manager
• Proficient in leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance newsroom operations, streamline workflows, and drive audience engagement in a fast-paced journalistic environment.

The Platform and its Program work with journalists and publishers to make quality information accessible to everyone by accelerating the digital transformation of the news industry.

The team trains and equips thousands of journalists and news organizations around the world to use Google tools to grow their audiences and revenue. You will deliver seminars on developing skills in online verification, fact-checking, data journalism, data visualization, mapping and video with a focus on leveraging the Platform’s AI newsroom tools and other products that can support working journalists. Additionally, you will lead workshops and training for digital publishers and news organizations to grow audiences and revenue using products like Google Analytics and Google Reader Revenue Manager and supporting their adoption globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead workshops training journalists on Google tools across a variety of products including Search, Maps, Trends, YouTube and AI tools including Pinpoint and Gemini.
• Analyze audience needs, scope projects, and evaluate existing training and documentation to identify the most appropriate training approach and content to meet the learning needs of each audience across multiple global locations.
• Represent the Platform and Program in key newsrooms and at specified industry events, according to client’s "Extended Workforce Communications Policy.”
• Support the growth and adoption of Google’s Reader Revenue Manager, a publisher solution to deepen audience engagement and convert subscribers or contributors.
• Work with the News Lab members to gain an understanding of Training best practices and current collateral in terms of decks, videos and sites for training.
• Design, develop, and maintain training programs, modules, and materials in multiple modalities, including remote learning, interactive e-learning, videos, hands-on labs, job aids, facilitator guides, and resource materials.
• Be responsive to the fast-paced nature of innovation and revise content in a structured way
• Partner with product teams at Google to share feedback and develop case studies on Reader Revenue Manager.
