Show job description

Jeppesen ForeFlight is redefining the future of aviation technology, equipping pilots, operators, and decision-makers with the software tools to forge bold new digital paths that push past the expected. We stand with those who dream bigger, fly farther, and seek to explore the next frontier in the cockpit and operations center.

We're seeking a Junior Implementation Specialist to join our Flight Planning Implementation team, helping airline and business aviation customers get up and running on our flight planning and dispatch software. This is an entry-level role, ideal for a recent college or aviation school graduate looking to build a career at the intersection of aviation and technology.

As a Junior Implementation Specialist, you'll work alongside experienced Implementation Specialists to onboard and migrate customers onto our flight planning and dispatch software. You'll start by supporting configuration, testing, and training tasks on live implementation and migration projects, and grow into owning smaller implementations and discrete workstreams of your own as you build product and domain knowledge.

This role is hybrid, out of our Denver, CO office.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Implementation team, you will:

  • Support customer migrations from legacy flight-planning platforms to our next-generation flight-planning system, and assist with new customer implementations across all service tiers, working toward owning smaller projects independently as you progress.
  • Assist with migrating customer configuration data and operational parameters from legacy or third-party systems into the new platform, and help define minimum output/reporting requirements with the customer, under the guidance of senior specialists.
  • Assist with configuring customer-specific environments, including direct-connect integrations with third-party IT systems such as scheduling systems, departure control systems, maintenance systems, EFB systems, and post-flight analysis systems, under the guidance of senior specialists.
  • Help coordinate cross-platform migration cases that overlap with an active implementation, partnering with senior specialists and other internal support teams on shared accounts.
  • Support migrations between related tracking and fleet-management products for customers transitioning between them.
  • Help triage reported issues as software defects, configuration changes, or third-party integration issues.
  • Build proficiency across the full implementation lifecycle by shadowing senior specialists on live projects and customer-facing training sessions, progressively taking on more ownership of timelines, milestones, deliverables, and training delivery as you grow.
  • Assist with test-and-evaluation to production transitions, including validation testing with customers.
  • Use AI-powered tools to speed up configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting work, and help the broader team adopt them.
  • Travel to customer sites on occasion, as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Recently completed (or equivalent practical experience through) a bachelor's degree, aviation school program, or comparable technical program; 0-2 years of professional experience expected.
  • Genuine passion for aviation and information technology, with a strong desire to build a career across both.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn to configure software applications, diagnose flight-planning output issues, and help distinguish software defects from configuration or third-party data problems.
  • Strong AI skills, or demonstrated fast learner with AI-powered tools, and enthusiasm for applying them to real implementation work, such as comparing configuration changes, triaging log files, and drafting first-pass customer responses.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, with the technical aptitude to learn and configure software without a traditional software engineering background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to and training customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize with support from senior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aviation knowledge (e.g., private pilot ground school, aviation degree coursework, flight dispatch familiarity, or airline/GA operations exposure), or a genuine desire to build it, is preferred.
  • Current or former pilot experience, or progress toward a dispatcher certificate/license from a regional governmental aviation authority, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, software migrations.
  • An understanding of, or a desire to learn, system integrations and network concepts.
  • Willingness to learn to digitally track work for project efforts.
  • Comfort working across time zones with international customers.
