Show job description

Jeppesen ForeFlight is redefining the future of aviation technology, equipping pilots, operators, and decision-makers with the software tools to forge bold new digital paths that push past the expected. We stand with those who dream bigger, fly farther, and seek to explore the next frontier in the cockpit and operations center.

We're seeking a Junior Implementation Specialist to join our Implementation team, helping airline and business aviation customers get up and running on our flight planning, dispatch, and electronic flight bag software. This is an entry-level role, ideal for a recent college or aviation school graduate looking to build a career at the intersection of aviation and technology.

As a Junior Implementation Specialist, you'll work alongside experienced Implementation Specialists to onboard customers onto our software. You'll start by supporting configuration, testing, and training tasks on live implementation projects, and grow into owning smaller implementations and discrete workstreams of your own as you build product and domain knowledge.

This role is hybrid, out of our Denver, CO office.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Implementation team, you will:

  • Support customer implementations of our flight planning, dispatch, and electronic flight bag software, working toward owning smaller implementations independently as you progress.
  • Assist with configuring customer-specific environments, including integrations with third-party flight planning and operations systems, API/SFTP setup, and IP whitelisting, under the guidance of senior specialists.
  • Learn to diagnose Electronic Flight Folder (EFF)/Topic-based document package issues, such as missing, duplicated, or out-of-sequence documents and incomplete package settings, with guidance from senior specialists.
  • Build hands-on skill editing XML configuration files and understanding how upstream flight-planning vendors author data into our products, including translator and field-mapping logic.
  • Help triage reported issues as software defects, configuration changes, or third-party data issues, building this judgment alongside senior team members.
  • Help manage and track implementation projects in a CRM/project-tracking system, keeping status current and supporting on-time delivery; help file and track engineering defects in a ticketing system (e.g., Jira) and support vendor service desk coordination as needed.
  • Support and eventually lead customer-facing familiarization training on product features and workflows.
  • Assist with test-and-evaluation to production transitions, including validation testing with customers.
  • Assist with reviewing device/app log files and screenshots to help gather diagnostic evidence before escalating issues.
  • Support beta/TestFlight coordination and help communicate release-cycle timing to customers.
  • Use AI-powered tools to speed up configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting work, and help the broader team adopt them.
  • Partner with product and support teams to help resolve configuration issues and escalations during implementation.
  • Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders, building the foundation for long-term customer relationships.
  • Travel to customer sites on occasion, as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Recently completed (or equivalent practical experience through) a bachelor's degree, aviation school program, or comparable technical program; 0-2 years of professional experience expected.
  • Genuine passion for aviation and information technology, with a strong desire to build a career across both.
  • Aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on XML configuration editing and how third-party flight-planning vendors author data into our products, including translator and field-mapping logic.
  • Aptitude for learning to diagnose multi-document package structures (e.g., Electronic Flight Folder/Topic-based document assembly) and sequencing, inclusion, and file-size issues.
  • Strong AI skills, or demonstrated fast learner with AI-powered tools, and enthusiasm for applying them to real implementation work, such as comparing configuration changes, triaging log files, and drafting first-pass customer responses.
  • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, including a developing ability to distinguish between a software defect, a configuration issue, and a third-party data problem.
  • Strong technical aptitude, comfortable learning and configuring software without a traditional software engineering background.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting to and training customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and prioritize with support from senior team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aviation knowledge (e.g., private pilot ground school, aviation degree coursework, flight dispatch familiarity, or airline/GA operations exposure), or a genuine desire to build it, is preferred.
  • Current or former pilot experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, major third-party flight-planning/dispatch systems such as LIDO, NAVBLUE, and PPS, and how they feed data into our products.
  • An understanding of, or a desire to learn, basic system integration concepts (API, SFTP) and IT/networking concepts (e.g., firewall whitelisting, environment setup) — prior hands-on experience is a plus but not required.
  • Willingness to learn and work across multiple ticketing/tracking systems (e.g., Jira, vendor service desks) in addition to a CRM.
  • Experience with, or willingness to quickly learn, Salesforce or a comparable CRM/project-tracking tool.
  • Familiarity with, or interest in learning, electronic flight bag (EFB) or flight planning/dispatch software.
  • Comfort working across time zones with international customers.
