Role: Jr Operations Generalist (effectively chief of staff to the COO)

We’re on an eComm (DtC) rocket ship - we’ve scaled from €6m to €30m this year with a team 30 spread around the world, and right now I need someone to work alongside of me (the COO) across everything in the company. It’s fast paced, it’s high pressure, it’s constant context switching, no day will ever look the same, you’ll work long hours to ensure you have high impact - but it’ll be worth it because this is the opportunity of a life time.
If you want to move into a COO role one day, this is the path to learning every function across the company. You will sit in on C-Suite meetings, have access to all C-Suite information, and get exposure to how decisions are made in fast moving 8-figure companies. As a generalist role with this scope, you get to work across many teams, and as a fast scaling start up, there is an opportunity to move into any role you choose as your next step.
So what am I looking for? Pretty much the only thing I care about is your attitude and aptitude towards life - do you have a growth mindset? (oh, and Claude needs to be your best friend). We won’t have an interview, instead we’ll have a chat about you, your life, what you want from life, and also about business, do you understand ‘business’ and why people would want to build businesses vs a function in a team?
and yeah, we’ll cover a little of your skills - as much as I say the above about attitude, you ideally do have some experience with the below already. Most importantly, if you’re willing to learn real fast - I’ll met you half way, I’ll teach you, but you’ll also spend your weekends teaching yourself.
The primary skillset you need, is the ability to quickly understand how a business function works, how to improve it, and how to build a system (both as an SOP, and also a tech solution) to make it more reliable, scaleable, easier for the team, or better for the customer.

You will be an extension of me, supporting me, and then working with other teams and team members as if you were me, representing me. You’ll also work on your own projects. This role is about taking ownership of every problem you see, and owning that until solved, then you’ll move onto the next problem (opportunity). You’ll also build, build, build, the business, and systems and processes.
Claude needs to be your best friend, you will work with Claude all day, it’ll know everything you’re working on, and it’ll work alongside you. If your Claude doesn’t call you ‘bro’, this is probably not the opportunity for you.
