Junior Accountant (Remote) (Full Time)

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Junior Accountant with hands-on experience in Xero and UAE VAT to support our General Accountant.

As a small, growing company with multiple sales channels, we need someone comfortable handling a varied workload, including substantial volumes of routine entries, reconciliations and follow-ups.

Working hours: 9am - 6:30pm Dubai time

Location: Full-time remote. Candidates from any country may apply if they can commit to these hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Record and check sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments in Xero.

• Assist with accounts payable, receivable and payment follow-ups.

• Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways, marketplaces and retail partner accounts.

• Check tax invoices, apply appropriate UAE VAT coding and prepare supporting schedules for VAT returns.

• Maintain accurate records and follow up on missing documents or discrepancies.

• Prepare Excel trackers, accounting schedules and routine reports.

• Support month-end activities and coordinate with the General Accountant and external accounting agency.

• Handle other accounting and related administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Practical accounting or bookkeeping experience.

• Hands-on experience using Xero.

• Practical UAE VAT experience, including input and output VAT, tax invoice checks, and preparing or supporting VAT returns.

• Good Excel skills, including formulas, lookups and filters.

• Strong attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Ability to work independently, manage routine entries and follow through on pending tasks.

• Reliable computer, stable internet and a suitable remote working setup.

Preferred

• Familiarity with Odoo ERP system.

• UAE Corporate Tax experience.

• Experience in e-commerce, retail or marketplace accounting.
