RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

Department / Research Program: IDIGH

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will help support public and global health projects at the intersection of tuberculosis and nutrition.

General Duties

  • Help with the literature searches, data extraction, data management, data analysis, etc. of tuberculosis and nutrition projects;
  • Assist with a systematic review on tuberculosis and nutrition in the Indian context;
  • Participate in project meetings (sometimes virtual).

Standards of performance

  • Respects policies and procedures;
  • Shows initiative, ability to multi-task and efficiency towards executing deliverables;
  • Has the capacity to work as part of a team, while respecting tight deadlines;
  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion with respect to confidential information.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Nutrition sciences related field

Other education considered an asset for this position: Global and/or public health related field

Work Experience: Demonstrated experience in conducting literature reviews, experience working in the field of tuberculosis (in the field and/or research).

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of French is required.
  • An advanced knowledge of oral and written English is required, as the position requires regular and complex contact with researchers or international students who are exclusively proficient in English. The position also requires complex writing or in-depth analysis of documents in English related to a research project.
  • Knowledge of Hindi is an asset;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision;
  • Attention to details and accuracy;
  • This position may require at least one trip abroad (India).

Additional information

Status : Temporary Occasional

Pay Scale: Commensurate with education and work experience.

Work Shift: Other or part-time

Other: Monday to Friday (flexible), day time

Work Site: McGill University campus
