Junior Automation Specialist

We are looking for a Junior Automation Specialist to support our work with a major global manufacturing group. You will help build and maintain the systems that ensure their financial reporting is accurate and timely. This is a fully remote position that focuses on the technical side of corporate finance processes.

Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates.
Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation.

What You Will Do

• Assist in configuring Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools to match specific finance requirements.
• Update and maintain data mapping logic to ensure information flows correctly between different systems.
• Create and test reporting templates in Power BI or Excel to help clients visualize their financial performance.
• Document system configurations and create user guides so finance teams can manage their own platforms.
• Help with data reconciliation during period closes to ensure every cent is accounted for.
• Test consolidation rules and intercompany elimination logic to verify they work as intended.
• Participate in remote team meetings to discuss project progress and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Assist senior consultants with the migration of financial data from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions.

What We Are Looking For

• A basic understanding of accounting principles or corporate finance structures.
• Comfort working with data in Excel, including formulas and basic formatting.
• Interest in learning how software systems like Oracle or SAP support large business operations.
