We are adding a Junior Automation Specialist to our team to support a project for a Berlin-based logistics firm. This role is focused on making sure different pieces of software talk to each other so that the logistics team does not have to copy and paste data between spreadsheets. You will be helping us build and maintain the bridges between their inventory systems, shipping databases, and internal reporting tools. This is a full-time, permanent position designed for someone starting their career who wants to see how software solves practical, everyday business problems.
About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, fully remote software agency. We do not spend our time on flashy marketing sites or social media apps. Instead, we build the internal tools that businesses actually use to stay organized. Our work usually involves things like admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations. We are a team of experienced developers who value working code over long meetings or complicated plans. We provide fixed quotes, show our work in weekly demos, and hand over clean documentation to our clients when we are done. We stick to reliable tools like Node, React, and Postgres because they work well and are easy to maintain.
The role
In this position, you will be working on the technical plumbing for our logistics client. A lot of the work involves moving data between systems. You might be writing a script to import shipping logs into a database or setting up a connection between an API and a custom dashboard. Because we are a remote company, you will be working from your own space, coordinating with the rest of the team through chat and video calls. You will spend your time testing integrations, fixing small bugs in automation scripts, and helping us ensure that the data flowing through the logistics system is accurate and timely. It is not always glamorous, but it is essential work that keeps a large operation running smoothly.
What we are looking for
We need someone who is organized and curious about how systems fit together. You do not need to be an expert, but you should have a basic understanding of how to write code to solve simple problems. We value people who are comfortable asking questions when they get stuck and who prefer writing clear code over clever code. Since we are a small team, being able to manage your own time while working remotely is important. You should be okay with working on backend tasks that might not have a fancy interface but provide a lot of value to the people using them. We look for a logical approach to troubleshooting and a willingness to learn how different APIs and databases interact.
Helpful background
While this is an entry-level role, there are a few technical areas that will help you get started. If you have played around with Node.js or JavaScript in your own projects or during your studies, that is a great start. Familiarity with how APIs work (like sending and receiving data in JSON format) is very useful. If you know the basics of SQL or have worked with databases like Postgres, you will find plenty of opportunities to use those skills here. Experience using GitHub for version control is also a plus. We do not expect you to know everything on day one, as this is a paid position where you will have the chance to grow your skills. The compensation is competitive for the market and reflects the importance of this role to our project success.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is straightforward. We do not have layers of middle management or complex corporate rituals. We focus on shipping work that helps real people, like warehouse managers and operations staff, do their jobs with less frustration. Our remote culture is built on trust and clear communication. You will have the support of senior developers who can help you work through technical challenges, but you will also have the autonomy to focus on your tasks without being micromanaged. We believe in steady progress and building software that lasts, which means we avoid the frantic pace often found at larger agencies.
Our team thrives on solving operational headaches. We take pride in the fact that when a client has a problem, they know they can rely on us to fix it. As a Junior Automation Specialist, you will be a part of a group that values honesty and technical common sense. We are more interested in your ability to learn and your attention to detail than in a long list of previous job titles. It is a place for people who enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a manual process become a reliable, automated one.
