We are seeking a talented individual to join our Specialties team, part of our Risk business at Marsh. This role will be based in Lisbon. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

At Marsh Portugal, our Construction Brokers provide customized insurance solutions for clients within the construction and infrastructure sectors. They play a key role in assessing risks, negotiating with insurers to secure optimal coverage, and supporting clients throughout the insurance process, including claims management.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Construction Broker to join our team. In this role, you will support senior brokers by assisting with client portfolio management, conducting risk assessments, preparing insurance proposals, and liaising with insurers. This role offers valuable hands-on experience to develop your skills in construction insurance and client service.

We will count on you to:

  • Design and place insurance programs for construction risks, including CAR/EAR, TPL and other related lines.
  • Help gather insurance terms from insurers and learn how to compare them against client risks.
  • Support the team in presenting insurance options to clients and assisting them in making informed decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide suitable insurance solutions.
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate terms and secure the best possible coverage for clients.
  • Ensure that all broking activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Develop strategies to attract new clients and retain existing ones.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes.
  • Be open to acquiring new skills and knowledge to enhance professional growth.

What you need to have:

  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (C1/C2 level).
  • Academic background in law, civil engineering, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in the insurance field, or professional experience as a lawyer in the real estate field or in real estate investment funds, will be highly valuable.
  • Analytical skills to assess risk and evaluate insurance terms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships.

What makes you stand out?

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, resourceful and meticulous.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Why join our team:

  • We help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.
  • We foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.
  • Our scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.
