Junior Business Analyst

We are looking for a Junior Business Analyst to help our team evaluate the financial health and expansion plans of a regional fintech provider currently scaling its operations. This role is a chance to dig into commercial data and test whether the growth assumptions behind their strategy reflect real market conditions.

The Role
As a Junior Business Analyst, you will work closely with our senior partners to examine the data that drives big corporate decisions. This is a fully remote position that requires a high degree of focus and the ability to find patterns in large datasets. You will not be making slide decks for the sake of appearances. Your work will focus on understanding how money moves through a business, where costs are hidden, and whether a company financial model matches its actual performance. We value accuracy and the ability to ask the right questions over following a set script.

What You Will Be Doing

• Reviewing financial statements and operational data to verify growth claims for the fintech client.
• Building and maintaining spreadsheet models to forecast different business scenarios.
• Checking the consistency of data across various reports from the client and their subsidiaries.
• Helping the team identify risks in capital allocation strategies and investment plans.
• Preparing clear summaries of findings that highlight discrepancies or areas of concern.
• Tracking the progress of execution plans to see if they meet the original financial goals.
• Participating in internal meetings to discuss the validity of pricing structures and unit economics.
• Conducting research on market trends that might affect a client portfolio economics.

What You Bring

• A university degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Comfort working with numbers and a basic understanding of financial reporting and P&L structures.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including the ability to organize and clean large datasets.
• A curious mindset that naturally questions why things are done a certain way.
• High attention to detail, especially when reviewing long documents or complex spreadsheets.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in a remote setting.
• Clear written communication skills for explaining complex data in plain English.
• A willingness to learn our specific approach to interrogation and financial discipline.
