This Junior Business Analyst position focuses on examining the financial foundations of complex projects for our partner, an international development organization. You will work closely with our senior team to analyze capital allocation and commercial assumptions to ensure that every dollar spent is backed by sound logic.

The Role
As an entry level analyst, you will join a lean, remote team that values intellectual honesty over corporate polish. You will spend your time digging into spreadsheets, questioning revenue projections, and checking the math that supports large scale investments. Because we work directly with principals, you will see exactly how decisions are made and how financial models translate into real world outcomes. This is a fully remote role that requires a high degree of autonomy and a commitment to getting the details right, even when the data is messy or incomplete.

What You Will Be Doing

• Reviewing financial statements and project budgets to identify inconsistencies in reporting.
• Building and maintaining models to test the sensitivity of pricing and volume assumptions.
• Supporting the analysis of capital allocation for our partner in the international development sector.
• Extracting data from various sources and organizing it into clear, logical structures for further interrogation.
• Researching market benchmarks to verify if internal projections are realistic or overly optimistic.
• Writing brief, direct summaries of findings that highlight potential financial risks.
• Assisting principals during the execution phase by tracking performance against the original economic case.
• Cleaning up large datasets to ensure that the foundation of our analysis is accurate.
• Contributing to internal discussions regarding the viability of new investment proposals.

What You Bring

• A university degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a similar field that emphasizes quantitative analysis.
• Strong skills in Excel, including familiarity with formulas, pivot tables, and basic modeling.
• A skeptical mindset and the willingness to ask questions when a number does not look right.
• The ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high standards for accuracy.
• Clear written communication skills with a focus on being concise and direct.
• Basic understanding of financial statements like the P&L and balance sheet.
• A high level of curiosity about how businesses actually make money and where they lose it.
• Persistence when faced with difficult data sets or unclear documentation.
