Currently, we are seeking a Junior Business Intelligence Analyst with practical knowledge of Power BI and Excel to support the creation and maintenance of business dashboards and reports.

Position Title: Junior Business Intelligence Analyst (Power BI)
Location: Bogotá (Hybrid)

What you will be doing:

You will create, maintain, and update Power BI dashboards that help business stakeholders monitor performance and key metrics. You will prepare and validate supporting data, apply basic transformations and calculations, and ensure reports display accurate and consistent information.

You will also support existing dashboards by making requested changes, investigating data discrepancies, and resolving basic reporting issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements.

  • Update existing reports, visuals, filters, and calculations as reporting needs evolve.

  • Extract and consolidate data from Excel files, CSV files, and other available business sources.

  • Use Power Query to clean and transform data, addressing duplicates, missing values, and inconsistent formats.

  • Create basic DAX measures and calculated columns to support reporting requirements.

  • Establish and maintain basic relationships between tables within Power BI.

  • Validate dashboard results against source data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • Investigate and resolve basic issues affecting report calculations, visuals, or data refreshes.

  • Use Excel to organize information, perform validation checks, and support reporting tasks.

  • Document data sources, preparation steps, calculations, and dashboard updates.

  • Work with stakeholders to clarify reporting requests and communicate issues or progress.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or reporting.

  • Practical experience creating and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports.

  • Basic knowledge of Power BI visuals, filters, slicers, and report interactions.

  • Basic knowledge of DAX for creating measures and calculated columns.

  • Working knowledge of Power Query for importing, cleaning, and transforming data.

  • Understanding of basic data modeling concepts, including table relationships.

  • Working knowledge of Excel, including formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, filters, and conditional formatting.

  • Experience preparing and validating data from spreadsheets or other business sources.

  • Ability to identify data discrepancies and investigate basic reporting issues.

  • Ability to translate business reporting needs into clear dashboards and visualizations.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Basic SQL knowledge, including SELECT statements, filtering, joins, and aggregations.

  • Familiarity with relational databases.

  • Exposure to Power BI Service, report publishing, and scheduled refreshes.

  • Relevant coursework or certifications in Power BI, Excel, or business intelligence.
