Junior Configuration Developer

As our global footprint expands we’re looking for a Junior Software Configuration Developer to join our high-performing Application Support Team in Auckland. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions will directly support the success of national and international registries. About the Role As a Junior Software Configuration Developer, you will work as part of a dedicated support team to deliver quality production support, configuration and enhancements to our global registry clients. You’ll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders – including clients, business analysts, developers, testers and project managers – to configure, develop and maintain registry applications based on detailed functional and technical specifications. Key Responsibilities Development Customize software components based on client requirements Follow design and specification documents to ensure consistency and quality Testing Conduct unit and integration testing of configured components Support QA teams during system and user acceptance testing phases Support & Continuous Improvement Provide ongoing production support for live systems Identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to enhancing application performance and reliability What We’re Looking For Education & Experience A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT environment At least 1 year of hands-on experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Groovy, C#, PHP), with Java preferred Technical Skills Good understanding of system design, programming concepts, and database fundamentals Keen interest in web technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, JSON, CSS) Understanding of common web service technologies (REST or SOAP) Familiar with software development lifecycle (SDLC); experience with Agile (Scrum or Kanban) is a plus Practical experience with SDLC tools (e.g. Jira, Jenkins) Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; experience with NoSQL databases is advantageous Familiar with source control tools and workflows (e.g. Git, SVN) Knowledge of ITIL and DevOps practices is advantageous Exposure to AI tools is advantageous Soft Skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities A proactive, detail-oriented mindset Why Join Us?
