We’re looking for a Junior Content Editor to create clear, engaging and customer-focused content for M&S Food across our online editorial channels. You’ll take ownership of content updates and small-scale campaigns, helping customers discover our products, recipes and food inspiration. This is a great opportunity for a confident writer and editor who loves food, understands digital content and enjoys working with different teams to bring ideas to life.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Plan and deliver small-scale content campaigns and key website updates, including Dine In activity and product listing page optimisation, from briefing through to publication.
  • Create and edit engaging online content, including features, guides, seasonal campaigns, product copy and customer inspiration content, using the M&S Food tone of voice.
  • Own catalogue content updates and manage content through Contentful, providing guidance to colleagues to support accurate and efficient delivery.
  • Use SEO protocol, search insight and content performance learnings to improve visibility, engagement and the way customers discover related products, recipes and editorial content.
  • Lead briefs, partner feedback and sign-off, working closely with Design, CRM, Marketing and category teams to deliver high-quality content on time.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Confident writing and editing skills, with excellent grammar, spelling and attention to detail.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to handle priorities and take ownership of briefs, updates and smaller campaigns in a busy environment.
  • Good knowledge of content management systems, alongside an understanding of SEO, digital content optimisation and how customers discover content online.
  • A genuine love of food and the curiosity to turn customer, product and trend information into simple, inspiring content.
  • A collaborative and personable approach, with the confidence to present updates, learnings and recommendations and respond positively to feedback.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.

Here are just a few of the benefits that make working here even more rewarding:

  • 20% colleague discount on all M&S products and many third-party brands for you and someone in your household, available once you’ve completed your probation
  • Competitive holiday allowance with the option to buy more
  • Strong pension and life assurance to help plan for the future
  • Tailored induction and training to support your development from day one
  • Exclusive perks and savings through our M&S Choices portal
  • Market-leading family policies, including parental, adoption and neonatal leave
  • 24/7 wellbeing support, including virtual GP access and mental health services
  • One paid volunteer day a year to support a cause that matters to you
