JHC Consulting is currently advising a leading South African financial group as they expand their reach and operations. To support this significant mandate, we require a Junior Digital Project Coordinator to manage the organizational structures and document flows of the engagement. This role is not about managing software developers or standing at a whiteboard: it is about coordinating the production of rigorous written analysis. You will support our principals by ensuring that the complex flow of digital information is organized and that every memorandum reaches the necessary stage of review before being issued to the client.
The Role
As a coordinator, your primary task is the management of the project timeline and the digital document lifecycle. You will act as the central point for tracking the status of various mandates currently underway for our South African client. This includes scheduling meetings between principals and client executives, maintaining the internal archive of research materials, and ensuring that all written drafts follow the firm's strict formatting standards. You will spend your days organizing digital folders, verifying that data points in a memorandum match their source documents, and keeping the principals informed of upcoming deadlines. Because JHC Consulting is a fully remote firm, you will rely heavily on clear, written communication to keep the project moving without the need for constant verbal check-ins.
What You Bring
We are looking for a candidate who is early in their career but possesses an unusual degree of intellectual maturity. You should have a degree in a field that requires significant writing and analysis, such as history, law, finance, or philosophy. You must be comfortable working with digital project management tools and document versioning systems, but you should also understand that the tool is secondary to the quality of the work. You need to be a careful reader who notices inconsistencies in text. While this is an entry level position, we expect you to be able to manage your own time and priorities without daily supervision. Basic familiarity with corporate structures or financial terminology is helpful, but a willingness to read deeply and learn our specific advisory method is more important. The ability to express complex ideas in simple, declarative sentences is essential.
How We Work
At JHC Consulting, we believe that writing is thinking. We do not use slides or produce decorative reports. Our work consists of signed memoranda that provide a clear, written record of our counsel. As a coordinator, you will observe how a professional argument is built from the ground up. You will see how we challenge the internal assumptions of a major financial group and how we refine our dissenting views through successive revisions. Every document we produce is the responsibility of a single author, and you will support that author by removing the friction from their workflow. Your contribution ensures that the intellectual work is never delayed by organizational failures or mismanaged documentation.
Working at JHC Consulting
This is a permanent, full-time position conducted entirely in a remote capacity. We operate without a central office, which requires every member of the firm to be disciplined and self-directed. We provide an environment where deep work is prioritized over social ceremonies. The firm offers a competitive salary that is attractive for an entry level professional, reflecting the high standard of accuracy we expect. You will have the autonomy to manage your schedule, provided the mandates for our client in South Africa are handled with the necessary care and precision. This role offers an introduction to the world of high-level advisory work, focusing on the discipline of the written word.
The final product of JHC Consulting is a document that can be held on file for years as a record of serious thought. Because each memorandum is signed by its author, there is no place for anonymity or shared blame. Even in a support role, you will be expected to stand behind the quality of your coordination and the accuracy of the files you manage. We value the quiet discipline required to maintain these standards, as it is the foundation upon which our advisory practice is built.
