We are looking for a Junior Exploration Geoscientist to join our G&G team in Rio de Janeiro.


Under the supervision of a Senior Geoscientist, the Junior Exploration Geoscientist will contribute to regional geoscience studies and seismic interpretation projects supporting Viridien's Earth Data activities in Brazil and across Latin America.


The role will involve the integration and interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data, well data and potential methods to support regional basin analysis, petroleum system evaluation and exploration opportunity assessment. The position will also contribute to the preparation and presentation of technical materials supporting business development and client engagement.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support seismic interpretation and regional G&G studies by integrating 2D and 3D seismic data, well information and other available geoscience datasets.
  • Contribute to regional basin analysis, petroleum system evaluation, structural interpretation and lead/prospect assessment.
  • Support the identification and evaluation of new exploration and business opportunities for Earth Data multiclient projects.
  • Compile and integrate geological and geophysical information using seismic interpretation and GIS software.
  • Prepare technical maps, presentations and other geoscience materials to support internal studies, business development and marketing activities.
  • Support technical presentations and discussions with clients, partners and government organizations under the guidance of senior geoscientists.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technical content for industry events and international conferences.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary and regional teams across Viridien.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous learning, with the ability to adapt to evolving technologies, priorities and project requirements.

Qualifications


Required


  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related geoscience discipline.
  • Experience or academic exposure to seismic interpretation and the integration of geological and geophysical data.
  • Familiarity with seismic interpretation and/or GIS software for data compilation and analysis.
  • Good understanding of petroleum systems, structural geology and exploration concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, both written and spoken.

Preferred


  • Master's or PhD in Geology, Geophysics or a related geoscience discipline.
  • Knowledge of offshore Brazilian and/or other Latin American offshore basins, including frontier exploration settings.
  • Experience or familiarity with lead and prospect evaluation.
  • Familiarity with geological exploration platforms and integrated subsurface interpretation workflows.
  • Understanding of seismic imaging concepts.
  • Intermediate Spanish.
