About the Organization
Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We’re looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.
About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a motivated Junior GIS Analyst to serve as a Common Installation Picture (CIP) Helpdesk and SDSFIE Specialist on a long-term engagement supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG).
This is a work-from-home position that requires the candidate to be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to support periodic local stakeholder coordination and meetings. You will perform as part of an integrated, mission-driven team dedicated to developing, maintaining, and reporting critical geospatial data layers depicting the built and natural environments across all ARNG States and Territories. Your work will directly empower ARNG leadership with real-time Situational Awareness (SA) over real property and environmental assets, maintaining strict data integrity through DoD and Army Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Aggregation & QA/QC: Implement structured workflows for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and enterprise aggregation of ARNG State and Territory geospatial data and metadata.
CIP Quality Reporting: Conduct data quality analyses and generate discrepancy reports utilizing Python-based validation tools to assess geodatabase geometry, schema, and attribution.
Tool Maintenance & Optimization: Identify, recommend, and execute modifications to existing CIP tools and Python scripts to optimize validation and reporting capabilities.
Application Support: Support and update the Geospatial Layer and Attribute Database (GLAD) application to meet evolving program specifications.
Helpdesk Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as a frontline technical resource to field questions, resolve user issues, and ensure efficient, compliant submission of CIP data from field installations.
Standards Migration & Training: Support the enterprise migration and compliance of Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and the Environment (SDSFIE), and facilitate user training sessions for stakeholders.
Required Experience/Clearance
Location: Must be local to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (or within direct rail/commuting access) to attend periodic on-site meetings and customer engagements.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related professional GIS experience.
Programming & Scripting: Working knowledge of Python, specifically for automating workflows and modifying geospatial validation scripts.
GIS Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of GIS concepts, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, and digital spatial data formats.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Pro, SQL, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Enterprise Systems: Experience utilizing Enterprise GIS, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Dashboards.
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to pass a federal background check/favorable suitability determination to support DoD systems.
Desired Experience
We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have any of the following experience:
DoD & Military Familiarity: Prior experience supporting military customers, with familiarity regarding military command structures, installation workflows, and decision-making processes.
Data Standards: Hands-on familiarity with SDSFIE schema requirements and real property asset management systems.
Independent Drive: Demonstrated ability to work effectively from home in a collaborative, distributed team environment.
Adaptability & Communication: Strong interpersonal communication skills, sharp attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to changing mission priorities.
