Is this job info correct?

Mindset Care was founded to create a better experience for individuals living with a mental illness or physical impairment—and their caregivers—as they navigate the Social Security Disability benefits process. Our team of specialized attorneys and representatives has helped thousands of individuals obtain Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits through the Social Security Administration. As a technology-first, fully remote organization, we leverage modern tools and innovative processes to streamline the client experience, allowing our attorneys to spend more time advocating for clients and less time on administrative work. We believe technology enhances—not replaces—great legal advocacy. We are currently seeking an Associate Disability Hearing Attorney to join our growing legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build a meaningful career in disability law while working alongside an experienced, collaborative, and mission-driven team. While prior Social Security Disability experience is welcomed, it is not required—we are committed to developing attorneys who are eager to learn and passionate about client advocacy. Job Responsibilities: Client Consultation: Meet with clients to evaluate their eligibility for SSI/SSDI benefits, discuss case strategy, and prepare them for the disability hearing process. Application & Appeals Assistance: Assist clients throughout the Social Security Disability claims and appeals process, ensuring applications and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and positioned for success. Hearing Representation: Represent clients during hearings before Administrative Law Judges (ALJs), advocating on their behalf throughout the appeals process. Evidence Gathering: Review and analyze medical records, employment history, vocational evidence, and other supporting documentation to strengthen disability claims. Legal Research: Stay informed on SSA regulations, policies, and relevant case law to effectively advocate for clients and provide sound legal guidance. Communication: Serve as the primary legal point of contact for clients while communicating with the Social Security Administration and other agencies as needed. Advocacy: Passionately advocate for individuals living with disabilities, ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve. Technology & Case Management: Utilize cloud-based legal technology, digital case management systems, Google Workspace, Slack, and AI-assisted tools to efficiently manage caseloads in a fully remote environment. Collaboration: Partner closely with case managers, legal support staff, and fellow attorneys to deliver exceptional client service and achieve successful outcomes. Job Qualifications: Admission to the Bar: Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. Documentation of SSA authorization to represent disability claimants is required or must be obtained upon hire. Experience: 0–3 years of legal experience preferred , although attorneys with more experience are encouraged to apply. Recent graduates, judicial clerks, public defenders, prosecutors, legal aid attorneys, insurance defense attorneys, workers' compensation attorneys, personal injury attorneys, and attorneys transitioning into disability law are encouraged to apply. Previous Social Security Disability experience is a plus, but not required. Litigation & Advocacy Skills: Ability to prepare persuasive legal arguments, effectively represent clients during hearings, and confidently advocate on behalf of clients. Medical Evidence: Ability to review, interpret, and analyze medical records. Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial and can be developed through training. Legal Research & Writing: Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills with the ability to prepare briefs, motions, and other legal documents. Client Advocacy: Demonstrated commitment to serving clients with empathy, professionalism, and compassion. Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail when reviewing case files, managing deadlines, and preparing documentation. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, Administrative Law Judges, and agency personnel. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a remote work environment. Ethical Conduct: Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, confidentiality, and ethical legal practice. Technology Proficiency: Must be tech-savvy and comfortable working in a fully digital environment. Experience using Mac computers, Google Workspace, Slack, cloud-based software, video conferencing platforms, AI-assisted legal tools, or similar technology is highly valued. We are looking for attorneys who enjoy learning new technology and continuously improving the way they work. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Social Security Disability, administrative law, workers' compensation, veterans' benefits, employment law, legal aid, personal injury, or other client advocacy-focused practice areas. Experience representing clients in hearings or other legal proceedings. Experience working in a remote or technology-first environment. Familiarity with digital case management systems. West Coast candidates preferred. Federal-level claims experience is a plus. Benefits: Remote-first workplace Comprehensive onboarding and training program Meaningful mentorship from experienced disability attorneys Large responsibility from the start The opportunity to build expertise in a growing area of federal law Clear career growth and advancement opportunities The ability to ascend within the company Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits (employee-only coverage) Paid Time Off and company holidays A collaborative team of creative, transparent entrepreneurs driven to accomplish our mission A technology-forward culture that embraces innovation and continuous improvement Why Join Mindset Care? At Mindset Care, you'll gain meaningful courtroom and hearing experience while helping clients through one of the most important moments of their lives. Whether you're beginning your legal career or looking to transition into a mission-driven practice area, you'll receive the support, mentorship, and technology needed to grow into an exceptional disability attorney. We hire for curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to learn—our team will help you develop the rest.
