Junior JavaScript Developer

We are hiring a Junior JavaScript Developer to support our team during a major engagement with a South African financial services firm. This position is fully remote and focuses on building the internal tools that help our consultants and clients stay organized. You will help us translate management rhythms into simple, functional code that reduces friction for leadership teams.

About the Role
This role exists to bridge the gap between our advisory work and the digital tools we use to maintain it. At Olive Tree Consulting, we help leaders fix structural habits that slow down their decision making. For our current project with a financial services client, we need a developer who can build and maintain the lightweight scripts and interfaces that track ownership and meeting outcomes. You will not be building massive, complex platforms. Instead, you will create practical utilities that make the memory of a management system more reliable. This is a full-time, permanent position where you will learn how technical implementation supports organizational strategy. The role is entirely remote, allowing you to work from your own environment while staying closely connected to the team.

What You Will Do

• Write and maintain clean JavaScript code for internal tracking tools and client-facing dashboards.
• Collaborate with consultants to understand how they record meeting notes and decision logs, then automate those processes where possible.
• Fix bugs and improve the performance of our existing scripts to ensure they remain easy to use for non-technical staff.
• Document your code clearly so that the logic behind every function is easy for others to follow.
• Assist in integrating different productivity tools through APIs to ensure information flows correctly between systems.
• Participate in team reviews to discuss how technical changes are affecting the day-to-day work of the firm.
• Test new features in a remote environment to ensure they work across different browsers and setups.

• A basic understanding of modern JavaScript, including how to manipulate the DOM and handle asynchronous tasks.

• Previous experience with common APIs or low-code automation tools is helpful but not required.
• Completion of a coding bootcamp, a degree in a technical field, or a strong portfolio of self-taught projects.
