HazteOír is seeking a motivated and analytically minded Junior Legal Campaigner to support our ongoing legal and anti-corruption efforts. This is an opportunity to develop practical experience with judicial cases while contributing to legal initiatives that can create meaningful cultural, institutional, and political impact. You will help ensure that our legal cases are carefully documented, monitored, and understood within HazteOír’s broader strategic work. About the Role As Junior Legal Campaigner, you will provide hands-on support for HazteOír’s ongoing judicial cases and legal initiatives. You will organize legal documentation, monitor deadlines and case developments, conduct research, and help ensure that the team has accurate and up-to-date information. This is a junior role, and previous professional legal practice is not required. However, you will need the academic background or legal knowledge necessary to understand judicial documents, identify relevant information, and process it carefully. You will work closely with the legal team and other departments to ensure that legal developments are understood within the broader context of HazteOír’s institutional objectives. You will also participate in legal strategy meetings and help translate complex developments into clear internal updates and supporting materials. The role requires attention to detail, administrative discipline, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn. You should be comfortable taking ownership of practical tasks while understanding how accurate legal work supports the organization’s wider impact. What You'll Do You will strengthen campaigns through legal strategies, including judicial actions, by collaborating with relevant teams and participating in legal strategy meetings to maximize campaign impact. You will establish and manage relationships with law firms and legal professionals. You will prepare and submit legal documents, appeals, complaints, and lawsuits as part of HazteOír’s legal strategies, under the appropriate supervision. You will analyze potential legal proceedings that could be initiated in ongoing cases and help plan their execution. You will continuously monitor and update the status of legal cases and the HazteOír Legal Agenda, ensuring that deadlines, developments, and required follow-up actions are accurately recorded. You will keep campaigners and directors informed of case developments by preparing clear, accurate updates. You will draft and disseminate institutional communications concerning legal cases and judicial developments. You will communicate with relevant external stakeholders on judicial matters to promote accurate coverage and understanding of legal actions and decisions. You will research legal cases, conduct investigative tasks, prepare witness statements, and produce comprehensive legal reports for HazteOír’s ongoing anti-corruption proceedings. You will organize and document incoming judicial notifications, legal briefs, and case records, as well as prepare summaries, indexes, and tracking tables for legal proceedings. You will coordinate with the relevant teams to help prepare institutional representatives for external communications related to legal matters. You will review and synthesize large volumes of legal documentation, producing detailed reports on key findings and case developments. You will create and maintain standardized work templates in Google Drive to improve the organization and efficiency of legal workflows. Who you are You are based in Madrid, Spain , and speak Spanish as a first language. You have a law degree. A master’s degree, bar membership, and prior experience in public-interest litigation or advocacy campaigns are assets, but professional legal experience is not required. You have at least a B2-level proficiency in English. (Duolingo English Test required for non-natives, minimum score of 100). Any other languages are a plus. You are passionate about HazteOír’s mission and are deeply committed to defending life, family, and freedom. You have a strong understanding of HazteOír’s current anti-corruption efforts and can examine legal developments from the organization’s strategic perspective. You have the ability to work independently on a range of legal actions and projects, taking initiative to achieve campaign objectives. You possess strong legal research, analysis, and document drafting skills. You have proficiency in leveraging AI to generate legal opinions and reports, and you continuously look for opportunities to develop more effective AI-powered workflows. You possess excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly in translating complex legal issues into clear and impactful messaging. You demonstrate high professionalism, self-motivation, and results-oriented delivery under tight deadlines. You have strong teamwork skills and are comfortable in a highly collaborative team culture and hierarchical structure. You possess strong problem-solving skills and can adjust quickly to changing legal and political conditions, making sound decisions as new challenges emerge.
