Junior Paid Media Specialist

Salary: R 25 000 – R 30 000 CTC per month (depending on experience)

Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract (with potential to extend/go permanent)

Location: Fully Remote (Must be based in Johannesburg for the occasional meetup)

Overview

We are looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed Junior Paid Media Specialist to join an innovative, high-growth global technology startup. Operating at the intersection of Causal AI, predictive analytics, and marketing technology, this platform helps enterprise clients understand the true cause-and-effect drivers of their media spend.

In this role, you will be the operational backbone of the paid media team. Working directly alongside a Senior Lead who will guide and mentor you, your primary focus will be high-accuracy campaign execution, meticulous quality assurance (QA), ad uploads, and daily delivery checks. You don’t need to be a high-level strategist yet—if you have strong foundational experience in Google and Meta Ads, a hawk-eye for detail, and a hunger to learn, this team will help you build world-class campaign management skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Campaign Setup & Asset Uploads: Build out approved campaign structures across Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and TikTok Ads Manager. Upload ad copy, creative assets, landing page URLs, budgets, and targeting parameters in line with strict naming conventions.
• Keyword Research & Copy Assembly: Conduct foundational keyword research using Google Keyword Planner to assist in building targeted search campaigns, negative keyword lists, and Responsive Search Ads.
• End-to-End Campaign QA: Perform rigorous quality checks on ad creative, copy, dimensions, tracking links, and landing pages before launching to ensure zero errors and full platform compliance.
• Daily Monitoring & Pacing: Check active campaigns daily to track spend pacing, ensure budgets are delivering correctly, and confirm performance metrics are tracking smoothly.
• Reporting & Documentation: Gather, format, and validate performance data to help update weekly/monthly reporting dashboards, tracking sheets, and client presentation decks.
• Troubleshooting & Support: Identify and flag any sudden delivery drops, link errors, or tracking discrepancies to the Senior Lead for quick resolution.

Requirements:

• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in paid media, ad ops, or digital marketing coordination (agency or in-house).
• Practical platform exposure: Experience using Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads to set up, upload, or monitor live campaigns.
• Foundational Google Keyword Planner knowledge for basic search campaign setup and negative keyword building.
• Exceptional attention to detail: A methodical approach to QA where double-checking URLs, copy, and budget settings comes naturally to you.
• Eagerness to learn: A proactive mindset and a strong desire to develop your paid media skills under the guidance of senior leads who offer ongoing on-the-job training.
• Solid communication & organization: Ability to track multiple campaign checklists, manage your time, and communicate clearly in a fully remote team environment.
• Qualifications: Industry certifications (Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, etc. are a strong plus).
