Product Owner – Data Services

Freelance Contract - September 2026 - May 2026

Brussels, Belgium- Hybrid – 50% onsite / 50% remote

English + French or Dutch

We’re currently looking for a Junior Product Owner to join a Data Services team in Brussels on a contract basis until May 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Data Management or Agile Delivery who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology.

You’ll play a key role in understanding business needs, shaping the product roadmap and ensuring the delivery team is focused on the highest-value priorities. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, Data Analysts, Engineers, Architects and other teams to turn requirements into practical, valuable data solutions.

Roles & Responsibilties

• Own and prioritise the product backlog based on business value and delivery priorities.
• Work with stakeholders to understand and translate business needs into clear requirements.
• Help define the product vision, roadmap and priorities.
• Work closely with technical and data teams throughout delivery.
• Support Agile ceremonies including planning, refinement and reviews.
• Manage competing priorities and ensure stakeholders remain aligned.
• Help identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics and data capabilities.
• Ensure solutions are delivered in line with relevant governance and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Data Management or Agile Delivery.
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience translating business requirements into actionable deliverables.
• Good understanding of data, reporting, analytics or information management.
• Comfortable using Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Understanding of Data Products and Data Mesh principles.
• Fluent English plus at least one local language.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Data Warehousing or cloud analytics would be advantageous. Previous experience within banking or financial services is also a plus.
