Junior Python Data Platform Engineer

Your Impact
We are looking for an Software Engineer to join our engineering team and help design, build, and maintain high-quality, scalable systems and data pipelines. You will play a key role in setting engineering standards and driving best practices across the team.
What You’ll Get to Do
- Design, build, and maintain Python applications, services, engineering tools, and data pipelines.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Python code, following software engineering best practices.
- Work with APIs, data processing, automation, and integrations to solve real engineering problems.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues, improve existing code, and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Work with technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, AWS, CI/CD, and containerized environments (with opportunities to learn them on the job)
- Use AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve coding, debugging, automation, and engineering productivity.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years of hands-on software development experience, with Python as one of your primary programming languages.
- Good knowledge of Python fundamentals, including data structures, functions, modules, classes, OOP, exceptions, and package management.
- Ability to write readable, maintainable, and reusable code, rather than only scripts that solve a single problem.
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and external integrations.
- Understanding of testing and debugging, with experience writing automated tests.
- Good understanding of Git and modern software development workflows.
- Good understanding of SQL and databases.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break larger problems into smaller, manageable pieces.
- A strong learning mindset and willingness to work with technologies you may not have used before.
- Ability to ask questions, seek feedback, learn from code reviews, and apply that feedback to future work.
Nice to Have
- Experience building dashboards or data visualizations using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Tableau, or similar.
- Experience with Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, or other data engineering technologies.
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform.
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with Terraform or infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus.
- Experience in developer productivity engineering, including improving engineering tooling and workflows and supporting the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).
