Junior QA Engineer (Mobile)

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Full-time, Contract

About the Role

We are looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join the team working on Sociera, our mobile social media platform.

This is a full-time, contract, entry-level role suitable for recent graduates or candidates at the beginning of their QA career. You will work under the guidance of a senior QA engineer and primarily focus on manual end-to-end testing of our iOS and Android applications.

Previous professional QA experience is not required.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manual End-to-End Testing: Test complete user journeys across the Sociera mobile app manually on iOS and Android devices.
  • Exploratory Testing: Use the app like a real user to find bugs, unexpected behaviour, and confusing experiences.
  • Bug Reporting: Clearly document issues with reproduction steps and relevant supporting information.
  • Test Planning: Help create, maintain, and execute manual test cases for new and existing features.
  • Regression Testing: Re-test resolved issues and check that new changes have not affected existing functionality.
  • Collaborating: Work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to understand how features are expected to work.
  • Continuous Learning: Build your knowledge of mobile testing, APIs, testing tools, and test automation over time.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Basic understanding of software testing and the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good command of English.
  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in understanding how software works.
  • Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and develop your QA skills.
  • Interest in and willingness to perform primarily manual testing.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with iOS or Android applications and mobile testing.
  • Exposure to product management or issue-tracking tools such as Notion.
  • Basic familiarity with APIs, Postman, Git, Azure DevOps, or SQL.
  • Internship, university project, or personal experience involving manual software testing.
  • Interest in learning more about Flutter and mobile test automation.

What We Offer

  • Mentoring and guidance from experienced engineers.
  • Fully remote working.
  • Opportunities to learn and grow within a professional software development team.
  • Exposure to modern mobile development, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and testing practices.
