Junior Reporting Analyst

We are seeking a Junior Reporting Analyst to help our team verify financial assumptions and track performance data. This role supports an ongoing engagement with our partner in Brussels, where you will assist in providing the clarity needed for their commercial and capital allocation decisions.

The Role
In this role, you will work in a fully remote environment as part of a small, focused team of analysts and principals. Your work will not involve creating superficial presentations: instead, you will focus on identifying where data does not match the corporate story. You will assist in building and maintaining the reporting frameworks that our principals use to advise clients on high-stakes capital decisions. Because we are a remote firm, you will need to be self directed and comfortable using digital tools to collaborate and share your findings with the rest of the team. This position is a permanent, full-time role that offers the chance to learn how to analyze the financial health of a company from the ground up.

What You Will Be Doing

• Aggregating financial and operational data from various sources to build weekly and monthly performance reports.
• Checking the consistency of financial models against actual performance metrics to find discrepancies.
• Helping to identify where value might be leaking in the P&L for our partner in Brussels.
• Maintaining internal databases to ensure that the information used in our advisory work is accurate and up to date.
• Assisting with the documentation of assumptions used in pricing and acquisition models.
• Preparing clear tables and charts that highlight potential financial risks or anomalies in the data.
• Reconciling data sets from different departments to ensure a single version of the truth is used for reporting.
• Participating in team reviews to discuss findings and refine the logic behind our financial assessments.

What You Bring

• A university degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• A high degree of comfort with Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.
• An investigative mindset and a natural tendency to double check numbers for accuracy.
• The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule in a fully remote setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English to explain data findings clearly.
• A basic understanding of financial statements, such as P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• A healthy amount of skepticism and the willingness to ask questions when data does not seem to make sense.
• Attention to detail and a disciplined approach to organizing large amounts of information.
