Junior Research Analyst

We are currently supporting a project for a Hamburg-based partner that requires a thorough review of their internal data structures and reporting workflows. This Junior Research Analyst role is a full-time, permanent position that is fully remote. You will be helping our senior team gather information, map out existing processes, and ensure that our documentation is clear and accurate. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who wants to learn the mechanics of business consulting without the usual corporate fluff or buzzwords.

What you will be doing

• Support senior consultants by gathering and organizing data from various client departments to identify system gaps.
• Document current business processes and technical workflows to help the team understand how data moves through the organization.
• Perform basic data validation to ensure that figures in new reports match the source records accurately.
• Assist in the creation of configuration guides and training manuals that help client teams manage their systems independently.
• Conduct basic research on industry standards for reporting and performance management to support our recommendations.
• Participate in internal team meetings to provide updates on data collection progress and any roadblocks encountered.
• Help maintain the project documentation library, ensuring all files are clearly labeled and up to date.

What we are looking for

• A basic understanding of financial terms and how business reporting generally works.
• Ability to use spreadsheets for data organization, including sorting, filtering, and standard formulas.
• Clear, direct communication skills for writing reports and talking with team members.
• A cautious and methodical approach to checking work for errors or inconsistencies.
• Recent completion of a degree or program in business, finance, computer science, or a related field.
• Willingness to ask questions when a task is unclear rather than guessing.
