Role Overview:

This position will serve to implement the technical solution designs for the enterprise back-up & recovery infrastructure. Configure, implement, install upgrade, support and maintain backup/recovery systems. Implements guideline and upgrade techniques for new operational procedures for the enterprise back-up recovery infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• This entry level position will implement backup and recovery hardware/software configurations; specifications; and assigned solutions; for the integration of technical database designs and enterprise backup infrastructure.
• Implement standards-based end to end solution designs leveraging defined process. Implements and supports platform configurations with coordination from telecommunications, server teams, storage, directory services, standards and policies, and security ensuring provided solution is in line with defined standards.
• Configuration, implementation, testing and maintaining of third party backup and recovery support software systems on the backup and recovery systems.
• Implement, maintain and upgrade database backup and recovery solutions as designed. Work with agency DBA’s and assist in database backup and recovery configuration, maintenance and application access.
• Install and configure backup and recovery hardware and software for use in the Production and Development environment.
• Assist senior level position to design backup solutions that meet their specific business RTO (Recovery Time Objective) and RPO (Recovery Point Objective) requirements.
• Implement and support backup hardware/software acceptance plans that leverage acquired test data for enterprise systems. Run tests to determine the accuracy of configuration logic to produce desired results. Debug and revise configuration based on test results.
• Configure, implement, test and maintain backup and recovery hardware and backup and recovery software systems.
• Analyze and resolve problems to identify backup and recovery network hardware and software system and operational inefficiencies and failure patterns.
• Provide support in the preparation of reports and correspondence related to assigned backup and recovery network hardware and software systems following defined policies, standards and procedures.
• Maintain familiarity with and understand the basic application of FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA, IRS, NIST and PCI regulatory guidelines. Understand CIS, CJIS and MCP security regulations.
• Assist senior level position with implementing step by step migration and conversion plan activities for server, storage hardware or appliance replacements or upgrades. Analyze data files, file structures, access controls, server configurations, storage and backup requirements.
• Assist senior level position in addressing and providing information requested during regulatory audits.
• In collaboration with Audit Compliance, utilize tools to verify, remediate and audit servers and other hardware/software for regulatory compliance.
• Support and maintain automated data processing systems and computer backup and recovery system support applications within the backup and recovery environment following General Operating Procedures

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or IT related degree; OR Associates + 2 years of IT work experience; OR 4 years of IT work experience
• This position also requires a basic understanding and working knowledge of data protection networking protocols, and standards, the ability to analyze problems in the environment and provide solutions. This position must have a basic understanding of peripheral technologies and network security compliance. This position must maintain familiarity with and understand the application of FedRAMP, FISMA, HIPAA, IRS, NIST, and PCI- regulatory guidelines and security competencies. This PD will comply with and meet the security competencies in alignment with approved senior standards. This position must apply access control permissions along with applying security controls in accordance with project and/or OS build standards.
