Junior Software Developer

About the role

Gogloby is hiring a Junior Software Developer to work on products for gogloby.com using cutting-edge AI technology. You will spend 100% of your working time on hands-on software development, supported by a small team and an AI-first development process.

Recent graduates are welcome. The role is designed for someone with strong fundamentals, visible energy, curiosity, and the discipline to grow quickly through real product work.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, debug, and maintain production software using Python and JavaScript.
• Work across backend, frontend, databases, and API integrations according to product priorities.
• Use AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot as part of the daily engineering workflow.
• Write and refine prompts that help generate, review, troubleshoot, and improve code.
• Contribute to products built with REST APIs, relational databases, and both monolithic and microservices-oriented architectures.
• Investigate issues independently, ask useful questions, and bring possible solutions or new ideas to the team.
• Handle changing priorities and parallel tasks without losing ownership, communication, or delivery discipline.
• Collaborate transparently in a small, fully remote startup team.

Required qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree (Bc.) or higher in Computer Science.
• Experience: 0-1 years of professional software development experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Core languages: Working knowledge of Python and JavaScript.
• Software fundamentals: Understanding of SQL, relational databases, REST APIs, and the concepts behind monoliths and microservices.
• AI-first development: Comfort using AI coding assistants and following an AI-first software development process.
• Prompt engineering: Ability to write clear, structured prompts and iterate based on results.
• English: Strong spoken and written English for daily remote collaboration.
• Work habits: Discipline, punctuality, openness, transparency, teamwork, and a strong desire to study and improve.
• Availability: Ability to commit to a full-time, 40-hour workweek without conflicting employment obligations.
• Location: Must be based in Ukraine.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java, React, Next.js, or Node.js.
• Personal, university, open-source, or pet projects related to AI.
• A portfolio, GitHub profile, demo, or technical write-up showing what you have built and learned.
• Experience shipping a small project end to end, even outside formal employment.
