You'll work alongside our existing Software Developer, supporting the development, maintenance and continual improvement of our internal applications, CRM platform, integrations and automation solutions. The role has been created to increase software development capacity, reduce key person dependency and support an ambitious programme of digital transformation across the business. Key Responsibilities As a Junior Software Developer, you'll support the design, development and maintenance of internal software solutions by: Developing new features and enhancements for internal applications. Supporting the maintenance and continual improvement of existing software solutions. Assisting with API integrations between business platforms. Building and maintaining workflow automations using low-code and no-code platforms. Investigating, diagnosing and resolving software defects and technical issues. Managing and resolving development-related helpdesk tickets raised by colleagues across the business, ensuring issues are prioritised and addressed in a timely manner. Providing technical support during system incidents, troubleshooting issues and working with colleagues to restore services as quickly as possible. Taking ownership of designated applications, systems or strategic technology projects, developing subject matter expertise over time and acting as a key technical contact for those areas. Supporting the delivery of key strategic technology and digital transformation projects, working collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes. Working with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate these into effective technical solutions. Writing clean, maintainable and well-documented code. Producing and maintaining technical documentation for internally developed systems and integrations. Participating in software testing, deployment and quality assurance activities. Contributing ideas to improve business systems, processes, user experience and software development practices. Supporting wider AI, automation and digital transformation initiatives across the business. Skills & Experience We're looking for someone with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn, rather than someone who already has experience with every technology we use. We believe attitude, curiosity and problem-solving ability are just as important as technical knowledge, and mentoring will be provided to help you develop within the role. Essential Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SQL. A basic understanding of database normalisation. A basic understanding of responsive and dynamic web design An understanding of handling AJAX requests An understanding of software development principles and programming fundamentals. Experience using Git or another version control system. A basic understanding of APIs and how systems communicate. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail. Good written and verbal communication skills. A genuine enthusiasm for technology and continuous learning. Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
