Junior Software Engineer – Avionics Displays - m/f/d

Are you ready to help us make the future? We have an opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Honeywell Aerospace team in Brno. Use your knowledge of engineering fundamentals to complete project tasks regarding applications that are essential for pilots during flight. You will interact with internal customers and team members to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications. You will collaborate across teams located in different time zones which will give you a chance to learn from each other and grow. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Key responsibilities Development, verification, and certification of real-time embedded aviation software for Cockpit Display System in Integrated Flight-Deck Systems (IFS) team. The software development includes design, implementation, testing, and documentation of the software in accordance with DO-178C guidelines. Responsible for executing pre-defined project subtasks to meet customer specifications. Ensure own work is completed on time and to specifications. Exchange of task level information (system requirements, technical drawings, specifications, etc.) with team members. Participation in project meetings and presentations. Be part of an agile global development team. Test the avionics software, which you develop, on a real avionics’ hardware/platform. Key skills and qualifications Experience in C++ / C University degree in technical field Get your hands dirty attitude: you are not afraid to pick tasks with ambiguous definition, start using new technology/development tools and turn them into quick deliveries. Eagerness to learn and proactive approach. Ability to work in complex aerospace area and learn through experience. Good troubleshooting skills to identify and fix issues arising from applications or flight testing. Good command of English language. We value Technical knowledge of Avionics Architectures/platforms. Knowledge of DO-178 Knowledge of 2D/3D software development using Vulkan (or OpenGL). Knowledge of scripting languages (Pearl or Python) Ability to Utilize AI (GitHub Copilot etc.) to your advantages. Understanding software development lifecycle. Ability to develop efficient and high-quality software. Requirements based development attitude. Agile development approach. Knowledge of software configuration management tools (GitHub, Bitbucket) Ability to seek solutions through communication with other team members. Ability to synchronize with international teams in different time zones. Willingness to travel if needed.
