Role Description The Junior Sous Chef role at Finder Recruitment’s client is a full-time, hybrid position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with some flexibility for work from home. In this role, the Junior Sous Chef supports the Sous Chef and Head Chef in planning, preparing, and presenting high-quality dishes according to menu standards and customer expectations. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with food preparation and cooking, ensuring proper portioning and presentation, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards. The Junior Sous Chef helps manage inventory, supports ordering and stock rotation, and may oversee commis chefs or kitchen assistants during service. The role also involves collaborating with the culinary team on menu development, contributing ideas for specials, and helping maintain consistent quality and timely delivery of dishes during busy service periods.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated basic culinary skills, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating in a professional kitchen setting.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage time effectively, and follow instructions from senior kitchen staff.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with chefs and kitchen colleagues.
• Experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering kitchen is preferred; prior experience as a Commis Chef or equivalent is an advantage.
• Relevant culinary education, certification, or vocational training is beneficial.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by service demands.
• Basic understanding of inventory management and portion control is an added advantage.
