Job Description Key Account Officer Location: Lagos, Nigeria Department: Sales / Business Development Employment type: Hybrid (3 Days In Store – Monday, Tuesday & Thursdays & 2 Remote – Wednesday & Friday) About the Company Our client is a Lagos-based B2B importer and wholesale distributor of cosmetics and personal-care products, supplying supermarkets, pharmacies, and beauty retailers across Nigeria. As we grow our chain and retail customer base, we are building a dedicated account-management function to keep our customers well served, well supplied, and ordering consistently. The Role We are hiring a Key Account Officer to be the day-to-day owner of our customer relationships. You will digitally onboard new accounts, keep them supplied with up-to-date price lists and product information, take and process their orders accurately, and proactively follow up with existing and lapsed accounts to keep them ordering. This is a relationship and service role for the person who makes sure every account has what it needs, orders on time, and never quietly drifts away. Key Responsibilities Onboard new accounts set them up in our systems, share price lists and product information, and guide them through how to order. Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for chain and retail accounts, handling their questions on pricing, availability and delivery. Take and process customer orders accurately through our inventory system (Zoho), and coordinate with the operations team to ensure orders are fulfilled on time. Keep price lists and product updates circulated and current with all accounts. Proactively follow up with existing accounts to prompt repeat orders and re-engage lapsed or dormant accounts to win their business back. Monitor account ordering patterns and flag accounts that are going quiet before they are lost. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for every account in our order and CRM systems. Work closely & Visit clients with the COO, who leads new-business development with large chains, to smoothly hand new accounts into ongoing service. Requirements: 2+ years' experience in account management, customer service, sales support, or order processing ideally in distribution, FMCG, or wholesale. Highly organised and detail-oriented; accuracy in order-taking and record-keeping is essential. A strong, warm communicator, comfortable managing business customers by phone, email and WhatsApp. Genuinely disciplined with follow-up — this is the heart of the role. Comfortable working with inventory / CRM systems and spreadsheets (experience with Zoho is an advantage). Proactive and service-minded, with a habit of solving problems before customers have to chase. Based in Lagos. Minimum HND / BSc in a relevant field. What Success Looks Like (First 12 Months) Existing accounts ordering consistently and on their normal cadence. Lapsed and dormant accounts re-engaged and buying again. Fast, accurate order processing with very few errors. New accounts smoothly onboarded and active from day one. Clean, reliable, always-current account records.
