Job Purpose

The Functional Consultant, North America Supply Chain Planning, serves as the internal process and technology expert for Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and the Kinaxis Maestro platform. The role protects platform integrity while enabling business outcomes by translating planning requirements into practical, sustainable solution designs and by ensuring that configuration, integrations, data, controls, and support practices align with approved business processes and

enterprise standards. The position provides functional leadership across solution design, enhancements, projects, testing, production support, and managed-service delivery for planning capabilities used in the United States and Canada. The role partners with Planning process owners, the IT Product Lead, architects, data and integration teams, delivery teams, Kinaxis, and managed-service providers while remaining distinct from demand ownership, project management, and primary business relationship ownership.

Job Responsibilities:

Planning Process & Domain Expertise

Serve as the Information Technology functional subject matter expert for North America Demand Planning and Supply Planning processes, including statistical forecasting, consensus demand, supply and production planning, capacity and material constraints, inventory planning, deployment, scenario planning, exception management, and planning performance measures.

Develop and maintain end-to-end understanding of planning decisions, business rules, planning horizons, master data, key performance indicators, data ownership, decision rights, handoffs, and standard work across the North America planning process.

Translate business process needs into clear functional requirements, solution options, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios while identifying opportunities to simplify and standardize planning practices.

Kinaxis Maestro Functional Ownership

Serve as the internal functional technology expert for Kinaxis Maestro, including planning models, workbooks, dashboards, task flows, scorecards, control tables, alerts, scenarios, business rules, master data dependencies, integrations, reporting, and user experience.

Lead or materially contribute to functional design activities and review and approve proposed Kinaxis solution designs and configurations to ensure alignment with business processes, platform capabilities, supportability, security, and long-term platform strategy.

Maintain current knowledge of Kinaxis product capabilities and releases; evaluate relevant capabilities and recommend adoption when they provide measurable planning or operational value.

Solution Governance, Delivery & Continuous Improvement

Partner with enterprise and solution architects, data and integration teams, security, delivery teams, and other application teams to evaluate cross-system impacts and ensure planning solutions align with enterprise architecture and technology standards.

Provide hands-on functional leadership through discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, stabilization, and continuous improvement; challenge unnecessary customization and identify sustainable alternatives using standard platform capabilities.

Develop or review functional documentation, process flows, solution decisions, configuration documentation, test evidence, release documentation, support procedures, and knowledge-transfer materials required to sustain the solution.

Run Support & Partner Governance

Provide functional leadership for complex production incidents and recurring problems, helping distinguish process, data, configuration, integration, security, and user issues; validate proposed fixes and ensure corrective actions address root causes.

Govern work performed by managed-service providers and implementation partners by clarifying functional context, reviewing estimates and designs, validating deliverables, monitoring adherence to standards and service expectations, and retaining sufficient internal knowledge to prevent overdependence on external resources.

Support business readiness, super-user enablement, release communications, and adoption activities by providing accurate system and process context to the Product Lead, project teams, change resources, and Planning leaders.

Scope:

Provides functional technology ownership for North America planning capabilities used in the United States and

Canada.

Primary process scope includes both Demand Planning and Supply Planning, with working knowledge of related inventory, production, capacity, deployment, scenario, and Sales and Operations Planning processes.

Primary technology scope is Kinaxis Maestro, including functional configuration, solution governance, integrations and data dependencies, enhancements, releases, and production support.

Works across Run, Change, and Transform activities, from production support and continuous improvement through major planning initiatives and capability roadmap execution.

Provides internal oversight of external implementation partners, software vendors, and managed-service providers supporting Kinaxis and connected planning processes.

Position Requirements:

(Minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the job or be considered)

Education / Certifications:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience, required.

APICS / ASCM certification, Kinaxis certification, or other recognized supply chain planning or platform certification preferred.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain planning, enterprise planning technology, Information Technology functional consulting, or a closely related role.

Demonstrated process expertise in both Demand Planning and Supply Planning; experience must extend beyond technical system administration.

Functional implementation, enhancement, or production-support experience with Kinaxis RapidResponse or Kinaxis Maestro required.

Strong understanding of statistical forecasting, forecast review, forecast accuracy and bias, demand consensus, supply and production planning, capacity and material constraints, inventory planning, scenario analysis, exceptionbased planning, and planning master data.

Experience translating business processes and requirements into functional solution designs, configuration decisions, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and sustainable support practices.

Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems, master data, integrations, enterprise data platforms, reporting, and cross-functional processes that support advanced planning.

Experience across the systems development lifecycle, testing, release management, incident and problem management, and change control for enterprise applications.

Experience governing systems integrators, managed-service providers, or software vendors and reviewing partner estimates, designs, configurations, documentation, and delivered outcomes.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to engage planning leaders, planners, Information Technology teams, and external partners.

Demonstrated ability to influence without authority, make sound functional recommendations, balance business outcomes with platform integrity, and drive issues to resolution.

Experience in a global manufacturing, agriculture, consumer products, or food and beverage environment preferred.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
