Title: Kitchen Porter Location: London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 Salary: £16.06 Hours: Zero hours The earliest start is 04:30 with the latest finish time of 22:30. All shifts are for 8 hours. It's important you live a commutable distance from the airport if you rely on public transport, considering the start and finish times. For those who drive, free car parking is provided. As this role is based at Heathrow Airport, you will be required to complete mandatory pre‑employment checks. These include providing 5 years of verifiable employment history, undergoing a UK DBS check, and, if you have lived outside the UK for more than 6 months, obtaining an overseas Police Clearance Certificate from the relevant UK‑based embassy. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work full time in the UK for the duration of the role. Whenever customers visit the British Airways Lounges at Heathrow Airport, you’ll be there as a lounge host to greet them with 5‑star, BaxterStorey service. Friendly, confident and professional, you’ll be the face of our bespoke operation, making sure that delicious food and relaxation are available to every visitor. Dishwashing – Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment either by hand or using industrial dishwashers Kitchen Cleanliness – Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, and food preparation areas. Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials Food Preparation – Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients Inventory Management – Assist in receiving, storing, and organising kitchen supplies and ingredients Compliance with Health and safety – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen ensuring equipment is in good working order No formal education is required, but a high school diploma or equivalent may be preferred Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects Good attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation practices is a plus Strong communication and teamwork skills For almost 20 years, for every client, in every location (whether that’s an office, stadium, cathedral or university), we have created beautiful spaces, exciting menus and friendly teams, so that each and every customer can have the hospitality experience they deserve.
