Role Description This full-time remote role is for a Korean Medical Interpreter specializing in Over-the-Phone Interpretation (OPI) and Video Remote Interpretation (VRI). The interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between Korean-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare professionals in medical settings. Daily tasks include performing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during calls or video sessions, accurately conveying medical information, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with relevant regulations. The role also involves clarifying medical terminology, documenting session details when needed, and adhering to professional codes of ethics and organizational protocols.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting between Korean and English.
• Knowledge and practical use of Medical Terminology in both Korean and English.
• Ability to perform Simultaneous Interpretation and consecutive interpreting in OPI/VRI settings.
• Competence in Translation of short medical documents or patient information when required.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Korean and excellent command of English.
• Prior experience as a medical interpreter or in healthcare communication is preferred.
• Familiarity with remote interpretation technologies and stable internet connectivity.
• Certification or formal training in medical interpretation or related field is an asset.
• Strong listening skills, cultural competence, professional ethics, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, manage remote work independently, and handle sensitive information discreetly.
