Role Description The Korean to English Medical Interpreter role is a full-time, remote position focused on facilitating clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate communication between Korean-speaking and English-speaking patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Day-to-day tasks include providing real-time interpretation during telehealth visits, consultations, and care coordination calls, as well as sight translation of medical documents such as consent forms, discharge instructions, and educational materials. The interpreter ensures that medical terminology, procedures, and patient information are conveyed with precision while maintaining neutrality and confidentiality. This role also involves preparing for sessions by reviewing relevant terminology, documenting completed encounters as required, and collaborating with clinical staff to support effective communication. The interpreter is expected to follow professional ethics, comply with privacy regulations, and use remote communication tools and platforms reliably.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Korean and English, including advanced speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in both languages.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex medical information accurately and clearly, with solid knowledge of medical terminology in Korean and English.
• Experience with remote interpreting platforms, video conferencing tools, and basic computer applications used in healthcare settings.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and cultural competence skills to support patients and professionals in sensitive clinical situations.
• High level of professionalism, adherence to interpreter ethics, and commitment to confidentiality and patient privacy (e.g., HIPAA or equivalent regulations).
• Relevant training or certification in medical or healthcare interpreting is strongly preferred; prior experience in clinical or healthcare environments is an advantage.
• Ability to manage time effectively, work independently in a remote setting, and handle multiple assignments with attention to detail.
• Availability to work full-time schedules, which may include occasional evenings or weekends depending on organizational needs.
