The Associate will play an important role in the day-to-day delivery of Arrow Global’s AML/KYC framework, taking ownership of due diligence activities and acting as a first point of contact for routine KYC and AML queries. The role forms part of the Group Compliance team, which is made up of 6 FTE, and will handle more complex reviews, provide quality assurance and guidance to Analysts, support ongoing monitoring and reporting, and contribute to the continuous improvement of KYC processes, policies and controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of inbound Arrow and external counterparty due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews for new and existing relationships, ensuring work is completed accurately, on time and in accordance with Arrow’s AML/KYC policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyse and assess complex ownership and control structures, Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO), the business sector of the counterparty, source of funds and source of wealth information, identifying gaps or higher-risk factors and escalating material issues to the Senior AML Manager.
- Conduct and document AML/KYC risk assessments and make clear, evidence-based recommendations on onboarding, periodic and event driven reviews and remediation activity within delegated authority.
- Perform and review sanctions, politically exposed persons (PEP) and adverse media screening, investigating and resolving routine alerts and escalating any hits to the appropriate channels or complex findings in line with guidance.
- Support non-platform fund transaction AML due diligence by requesting and reviewing AML/KYC documentation, liaising with counterparties to resolve queries and maintaining complete records.
- Support ongoing portfolio monitoring, including AML/KYC event driven reviews (“EDRs”), screening reviews and maintenance of fund UBO analysis and associated documentation.
- Act as a first point of contact for day-to-day KYC/AML queries from the business and develop strong working relationships with Compliance, Risk, Operations, Tax, Legal, Front Office and relevant external counterparties.
- Supervise and quality check KYC work completed by Analysts, providing constructive feedback, informal guidance and mentoring to support consistent standards and development.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of KYC/AML policies, procedures, controls and monitoring tools, identifying practical opportunities to improve quality, efficiency and cost effectiveness, including appropriate use of AI tools.
- Support and, where appropriate, take ownership of compliance monitoring and thematic reviews, including documenting findings and recommendations and following up on agreed actions.
- Assist with regulatory filings, compliance reporting and the preparation of materials for internal governance forums, audits and other internal or external reviews.
- Monitor relevant regulatory developments and support the assessment of their potential impact on the Investment Business and wider Group.
- Support the preparation and delivery of compliance training and awareness activities and assist with wider Group Compliance projects and ad hoc compliance matters as required.
- Promote a strong compliance culture and provide clear, practical guidance while escalating matters that require senior judgement or approval.

- Good working knowledge of AML/KYC regulatory frameworks and guidance, including AMLD, FATF and relevant sanctions requirements; exposure to FinCEN and OFAC requirements is desirable.
- Practical experience conducting CDD and EDD, including assessment of complex legal entities, ownership structures, UBOs, source of funds/source of wealth and higher-risk relationships.
- Experience using screening tools for sanctions, PEP and adverse media checks, with the ability to investigate, document and escalate potential matches appropriately.
- Ability to work independently, interpret policies and regulatory requirements and provide clear, practical guidance on routine KYC/AML matters.
- Experience reviewing or quality checking the work of junior colleagues and a willingness to mentor and support Analysts.
