About Wander

Travel is a $4 trillion industry running on software from the last century. We are fixing that. Wander.com is the leading marketplace for exceptional vacation homes with best-in-category guest satisfaction. WanderOS takes that same battle-tested engine and puts it in the hands of every property manager on Earth: conversion-optimized direct booking websites, automated guest marketing, and AI-powered distribution to millions of travelers. Operators own their brand, their bookings, and their guests. No middlemen.

Wander is led by a second-time founder and an all-star team from companies like Shopify. We are a Series B company gearing up for Series C, and product velocity has gone vertical: AI agents, payments, new distribution channels, and performance products, all shipping on a cadence most companies would call impossible. We call it Tuesday.

Our mission is to help people find their happy place. Our vision is to build the infrastructure for people to experience the world. If you want to make a dent in one of the largest industries on the planet, this is the place.

About the role

Want to build the retention engine behind the operating system for hospitality? WanderOS (wander.com/os) is how property managers and vacation rental operators run their business: direct booking websites, automated guest marketing, AI-powered distribution, and payments, all in one place. As our L6 Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager you will own the entire operator journey, from the second a property manager signs up through onboarding, activation, engagement, expansion, and retention. You will build the automated campaigns, segmentation, and messaging that turn brand-new sign-ups into engaged, loyal, long-term customers.

This is an individual contributor position reporting to Wander's CMO. It is highly cross-functional and refreshingly measurable: you will partner closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Product Marketing, and Growth Marketing, and your impact will show up in the numbers that matter most: activation rate, retention, expansion revenue, and churn. If turning raw customer data into campaigns that actually move the needle gets you fired up, let's talk.

This role is remote across the US or Canada. If you are in Austin or San Francisco, we have offices waiting for you (SF is in the Presidio).

Level: L6 Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager

Years of experience set the level. This posting is for L6 Senior:

  • 5 to 8+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company.
  • You own the full customer journey end to end and execute growth programs quickly and independently.
  • You advise Product Marketing and Product on activation, engagement, and conversion goals per product line, and you set the lifecycle strategy to hit them.

What you'll do

Own the operator journey

  • Set the lifecycle marketing strategy across the full WanderOS customer journey: onboarding, activation, engagement, retention, expansion, and win-back, and execute with excellence.
  • Partner with Product, Sales, and Product Marketing to set activation, engagement, and conversion goals for each product line, then design always-on programs to hit them.
  • Build, launch, and continuously optimize automated email, in-app, and SMS campaigns using our marketing automation and CRM stack.
  • Map funnels, build and optimize per-product customer journeys, and refine segmentation to match conversion objectives and operator behavior.
  • Collaborate on onboarding content and in-product messaging that gets property managers hooked on the features that matter most.

Immerse in the data

  • Run sharp A/B tests across subject lines, content, timing, and channel. Find leading indicators that tell us how operators actually use the product.
  • Build and maintain dashboards for the KPIs that matter: activation rate, retention, net revenue retention, churn, and LTV.
  • Own and evolve the lifecycle tech stack, including integrations between the CRM or ESP and product data.

AI reflexivity

  • As everyone at Wander must, you have a keen interest in AI and are proficient in the ways AI can amplify your impact: personalization at scale, content generation, journey analysis, and automation of the work that used to eat your week.

Communicate and influence

  • Communicate strategies, plans, and impact to the CMO, Product, Sales, and the founder. Showcase and socialize what lifecycle is delivering across the organization.
  • Build high-trust relationships with Product, Growth, Sales, and Customer Success so retention is a company motion, not a marketing silo.

Be the voice of the operator

  • Know our operators cold: property managers and vacation rental operators from independent hosts to large hospitality businesses. Translate what they need at each lifecycle stage into messaging that lands.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8+ years in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS company, with a significant track record of campaigns that measurably moved activation, retention, or expansion metrics.
  • Rock-solid understanding of email marketing and customer journey mapping, with hands-on chops in a marketing automation or lifecycle platform (Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, HubSpot, or similar).
  • Data-first analytical thinking: you are comfortable pulling and interpreting data (SQL a plus) to segment audiences, run experiments, and prove impact.
  • A marketing generalist who knows most growth channels but has the experience and skills to go deep on lifecycle.
  • Excellent, persuasive writing. You craft messaging that sounds human, not robotic.
  • A curious, entrepreneurial, resourceful approach to problem solving, and a growth mindset: if you do not know how to do it, you will learn or figure it out.
  • You thrive on change rather than endure it, and you are resilient and resourceful in the face of ambiguity.
  • Hardcore. You set a high bar, move fast, and ship.

Additional assets

  • Experience in proptech, hospitality, travel, or vacation rentals.
  • Experience marketing to SMB or mid-market operators rather than consumers.
  • Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) or similar operator-facing software.
  • Prior entrepreneurial experience: you ran a business, founded something, or were early at a startup.
  • A personal mantra of owning your own development. Tell us the courses, books, or mentors you used to level up your craft.

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: $150,000 to $185,000 USD. This is Series B startup market rate for the L6 Senior level, with placement in the range based on experience and location. Canadian offers are calibrated to local market rates.
  • Meaningful equity. You will own a piece of what you build.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Remote-first across the US and Canada, with offices in Austin, TX and San Francisco (Presidio) if you want a desk.
