Description

Are you an ambitious Associate on the lookout for a new challenge, and keen to join an international firm with a well-established worldwide presence? Are you a Dutch-qualified lawyer looking to work in an enterprising team with the energy of a start-up, but backed by the resources of a powerhouse global firm? If so, this could be the role for you. We are seeking a junior or mid-level Employment Associate to join our growing team in Amsterdam.

Us

Squire Patton Boggs is one of the world's strongest integrated law firms, committed to providing insight at the point where law, business and government meet.

As one of the largest global labour and employment practices in the world and recognized as a Global Elite Firm by International Employment Lawyer (IEL), we combine hands-on experience, legal precision, commercial insight and a practical, business-minded approach.

This is an exciting time to join the Squire Patton Boggs as we continue to grow our presence in the Netherlands; you'll be joining an ambitious Dutch practice, leveraging our entrepreneurial spirit to build a best-in-class offering. In return, you'll receive a perhaps unrivalled opportunity to balance responsibility, business development, and career progression, with the support of an internationally recognised team at your side.

You

We are looking for a Dutch-qualified Employment Associate at the junior or mid-level (up to five years' experience). You will be an ambitious, engaging individual looking to take the next step in your career, delivering high-quality work and the best possible client service.

Solid matter management is a must, as is ambition, self-motivation and both the desire and the ability to deliver high-quality work and act on your own initiative. You will be adept at handling a broad spectrum of non-contentious employment law issues, including the employment aspects of corporate transactions, as well as litigation and multi-country projects.

Our Offer

We work on large (often cross-jurisdictional) matters where you will be a valuable part of a global client team with front line client exposure. From day one, you will advise on a wide range of projects, including drafting global policies and procedures, disciplinary and grievance issues, restructures and redundancies, and changes to terms and conditions.

In Return, You'll Receive

  • Workplace Culture & Pro Bono Opportunities - our Associates are encouraged to get involved with our global Workplace Culture & Development and pro bono initiatives, and 100 hours of contributions in this space count towards the chargeable hours target.
  • Competitive Pay & Bonus Schemes.
  • Flexible Working - the firm advocates hybrid working practices to support your work/life balance.
  • Learning & Development - our Associate Development Programme supports you at every step of your career.
