Show job description
Are you an organized, detail-oriented HR professional with a passion for labour relations? As a Labour Relations Coordinator at Ledcor, you will provide hands-on support to our Labour Relations team — coordinating collective agreement administration, supporting grievance processes, managing inquiries, and helping ensure our LR programs run efficiently across unionized operating groups.

Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations, you will collaborate closely with Business HR, Payroll, HR Shared Services, and union representatives to support effective and timely resolution of employee relations matters. You bring strong organizational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion — all while keeping pace in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder environment.

Come and join the True Blue team and build your career with one of Canada's most established construction companies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Support unionized operating groups with day-to-day Labour Relations deliverables, including preparation and review of documents related to collective agreement administration, project-specific terms and conditions, and market research in preparation for collective bargaining
  • Coordinate the implementation of collective agreement details and project-specific terms within internal systems, including input/output of data across HRIS, payroll, time capture, and Business Employee Services
  • Schedule, prepare for, and attend labour-management meetings as a minute-taker, ensuring accurate records are captured, stored, and managed in accordance with LR requirements
  • Assist with and resolve daily employee and HR inquiries related to pay, records of employment, terminations, Service Canada, and benefits — escalating complex matters to LR Advisors or the Manager as appropriate
  • Collaborate with operating group leaders, Business HR, and union representatives to support resolution of straightforward unionized employee issues and grievances, including assisting in drafting progressive disciplinary documentation and grievance responses
  • Support HR investigations by gathering and exchanging information with the union and relevant stakeholders, and coordinating communication between shared services groups and operations leadership
  • Assist LR Advisors in evaluating research, preparing recommendations and strategies, and drafting Labour Relations presentations and communications for distribution to the business
  • Maintain and improve LR systems and processes, ensuring documentation integrity, compliance with administration requirements, and a continuous improvement mindset in overall HR service delivery

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field; exposure to a unionized environment is a significant asset
  • Post-secondary diploma in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or a related discipline is preferred; a high school diploma with equivalent experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of Labour Relations principles, collective agreement administration, and related HR processes, with an ability to identify key business and operational drivers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint; experience with HRIS platforms is an asset
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to support data analysis, prepare documentation, and contribute to well-informed recommendations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the professionalism and interpersonal confidence to liaise effectively across operations, HR, unions, and external legal counsel
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and a commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, and to work effectively with moderate supervision in a collaborative team environment

Work Enviroment:

  • Hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office; occasional travel may be required (estimated less than 25% of time)
