Today, Assystem is among the top three independent nuclear engineering firms worldwide. With over 60 years of experience in highly regulated sectors, the group supports public and industrial stakeholders in the execution of complex and strategic infrastructure projects, subject to high safety and security requirements. Assystem mobilizes 8,000 experts in 13 countries and intervenes across the entire project lifecycle, in engineering, project management and digital solutions. As global challenges related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and sustainable development intensify, the role of ecological expertise has never been more critical. Our growing ecology practice is at the forefront of delivering practical solutions that promote environmental resilience, biodiversity conservation, and responsible land use. We support a wide range of projects—from infrastructure development and renewable energy to habitat restoration and environmental planning—by integrating ecological principles into every phase of design and decision-making. Our team of ecologists work closely with clients, communities, and stakeholders to ensure that development and conservation go hand in hand. With a strong focus on innovation, regulatory compliance, and long-term ecological health, we are committed to advancing a more sustainable and nature-positive future. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, large-scale projects with significant environmental, ecological, and community considerations, helping to shape the relationship between infrastructure, landscape, and place. As a Landscape Architect, you will: Develop and deliver landscape design strategies, masterplans, and detailed landscape proposals. Produce concept, schematic, and detailed design packages using industry-standard CAD and design software. Carry out site appraisals, landscape analysis, and feasibility studies to inform design proposals. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create integrated and coordinated design solutions. Prepare high-quality technical drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documentation. Manage projects from initial brief through to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, presenting design proposals and responding positively to feedback. Champion sustainable design principles, biodiversity, and environmental best practice throughout every project. Ensure designs comply with UK planning legislation, building regulations, and local authority requirements. Continue to develop your professional portfolio while staying up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practice in landscape architecture and urban design. You'll ideally have: A Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, or a related discipline. Proven experience in landscape design and masterplanning within a consultancy or professional practice. Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or equivalent CAD and GIS software, along with design visualisation tools. A strong understanding of landscape design principles, ecology, sustainability, and environmental planning. Knowledge of UK planning regulations, building standards, and local authority processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with confidence presenting ideas to clients and stakeholders. Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. A high-quality portfolio showcasing your landscape design experience and creative approach. It would be advantageous if you also have: A Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field. Chartered status or membership with the Landscape Institute (LI), RIBA, IFLA, or another relevant professional body. Experience delivering large-scale or complex projects across London or the South East. Knowledge of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and 3D visualisation software. Experience working with heritage assets and listed buildings. Public consultation and community engagement experience. Knowledge of landscape maintenance strategies and horticultural specifications. Minimum 2 days per week in office in London, or on-site NOTICE TO CANDIDATES ON RECRUITMENT FRAUD - We are committed to safeguarding candidates from fraudulent activity associated with our recruitment process. Please note that we will never offer specialist CV writing services, request payment or ask for sensitive personal information during the recruitment process. We are committed to equal treatment of candidates and promote, as well as foster all forms of diversity within our company. We believe that bringing together people with different backgrounds and perspectives is essential for creating innovative and impactful solutions. Skills, talent, and our people’s ability to dare are the only things that matter !. Bring your unique contributions and help us shape the future.
