Syngenta’s LATAM Regulatory team is seeking a LATAM Product Chemistry Lead, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Bogotá or Colombia or CDMX, Mexico. This regional expert will provide regulatory chemistry support for Crop Protection products, connecting LATAM Regulatory teams with Global Product Chemistry, Production & Supply (P&S) and project teams to enable registrations and effective product life-cycle management.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage the technical aspect (regulatory chemistry) of a portfolio of active ingredients and their corresponding marketed products for LATAM, including life cycle management responsibilities. This will be in full alignment with globally defined ways of working, and with a dotted reporting line to the Global Product Chemistry Team Manager.
  • Collaborate with Global Product Chemistry Managers and Global/Local Regulatory Managers to develop regulatory chemistry strategies that are in alignment with LATAM and country-specific regulatory requirements, guidelines, and company policies.
  • Provide technical expertise in regulatory chemistry to all relevant stakeholders, including internal teams (such as product safety, production & supply), external partners, and regulatory authorities. This involves interpreting complex regulatory requirements, providing strategic advice on issues, and ensuring that all product chemistry documentation meets the highest standards of accuracy and completeness. Additionally, act as a key resource for troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges related to product chemistry and regulatory processes in LATAM.
  • Prepare, outsource, and submit comprehensive technical documentation and pertinent sections of registration dossiers to support registration processes in LATAM. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively advocate for the company's positions on pertinent issues. This involves presenting robust scientific evidence to support the company's stance

Required

  • University degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy or an equivalent scientific discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in product registration, regulatory chemistry, product development, or production/formulation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of Crop Protection Regulatory requirements and/or regulatory science issues, with a broader understanding of LATAM processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex scientific data and develop evidence-based technical positions.
  • Ability to work within and contribute to cross-functional teams
  • Clear evidence of results orientation, project coordination / management and communication skills
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical topics and transfer knowledge effectively.
  • Fluent English and proficiency in the local language; ability to collaborate effectively with regional and global teams.

Desired

  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant scientific field.
  • Experience with LATAM registration processes and product chemistry requirements.
