About the Role
Join a law and motion and appellate team at a national litigation defense law firm. You will provide written advocacy across a range of practice areas, helping litigation attorneys develop effective strategies and address complex legal issues.
What You'll Do
Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including pleading-related, discovery, and dispositive motions.
Prepare trial documents, including motions in limine, trial briefs, pocket briefs, jury instructions, and verdicts.
Draft post-trial motions, including motions for a new trial and attorney's fees.
Research complex legal issues and recommend strategies to clients and litigation attorneys.
Assess litigation and appellate strategies, with opportunities to handle appeals and present appellate arguments.
What We're Looking For
2 to 10 years of legal experience, with a strong background in law and motion or legal writing.
Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills. A writing sample is required.
Knowledge of litigation subject areas such as premises liability, complex litigation, or governmental entity matters.
Experience with Zoom, Westlaw, and LexisNexis.
Ability to meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1,920 hours.
Must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $130,000 to $185,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
