About the Role
Join a law and motion and appeals team that supports litigation work across multiple practice areas. You will provide written advocacy and legal analysis that helps shape case strategy from pretrial through appeal.
What You'll Do
Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including pleading-related, discovery, and dispositive motions.
Prepare trial documents such as motions in limine, trial briefs, pocket briefs, jury instructions, and verdict forms.
Research complex legal issues and provide strategic recommendations to litigation attorneys.
Draft post-trial motions, including motions for new trial and attorney's fees.
Support appellate matters and, as opportunities arise, participate in appellate arguments.
Analyze litigation and appellate strategies across varied civil matters.
What We're Looking For
Juris Doctor degree and active California State Bar membership in good standing.
Two to ten years of civil litigation defense experience, with a strong law and motion or legal writing background.
Experience drafting motions, oppositions, or appellate briefs, and knowledge of California civil procedure and substantive law.
Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and complex issue-spotting skills. A writing sample is required.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Ability to meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1,920 hours.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $130,000 to $185,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
