About the Role
Join a law and motion and appeals team supporting litigation across a range of practice areas. This role is focused on strong written advocacy and strategic research that helps attorneys shape litigation outcomes.
What You'll Do
Draft pretrial motions and oppositions, including pleading-related, discovery, and dispositive motions.
Prepare trial materials such as motions in limine, trial briefs, pocket briefs, jury instructions, and verdict forms.
Research complex legal issues and provide recommendations to litigation attorneys.
Draft post-trial motions, including motions for new trial and attorney's fees.
Assess litigation and appellate strategies, with opportunities to handle appeals and participate in appellate arguments.
What We're Looking For
Two to ten years of legal experience, including experience drafting motions, oppositions, or appellate briefs.
A Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with a writing sample available.
Experience applying California civil procedure and substantive law in litigation, such as premises liability, complex litigation, or governmental entity matters.
Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, and collaboration tools such as Zoom.
Ability to meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1,920 hours.
Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual salary range is $130,000 to $185,000. Visa sponsorship is not available.
