About The Role

You'll join our General Insurance team, working across a broad range of construction and engineering disputes for insurers and insured clients. The role offers exposure to complex defect, indemnity and liability matters, including large-scale litigated claims arising from construction and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities


  • Managing the day-to-day conduct of commercial litigation matters with appropriate supervision and support
  • Drafting correspondence, pleadings, submissions, affidavits and other court and tribunal documents
  • Appearing at mediations, settlement conferences, tribunals and court hearings
  • Preparing clear, practical and commercially focused advice for clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives
  • Managing client reporting requirements and client portal obligations
  • Working closely with colleagues across the team on complex and interesting matters
  • Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers, graduates and seasonal clerks


About You


  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practising certificate in New South Wales
  • Have 3+ years' PAE, with experience in construction, engineering and/or property insurance matters
  • Experience acting in subrogated recovery matters is advantageous, but not essential
  • Enjoy working directly with clients and building trusted professional relationships
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Are able to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Take a proactive and collaborative approach to your work
  • Are a genuine team player who is professional, client-focused and committed to contributing to a positive team culture
